mangodart Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Hi guys, here's my latest build : a 75 Pontiac Ventura Sprint, started with the MPC kit. I found my inspiration on the 'net as there's one like this with a lot of reference pics. Lot's of work here as nothing exist to build this version. So a big Thank you at "Mrchevyblack" who created me those decals without I could not build it !!! I have to "cover" the hood as it was normally opened for a Shaker, the engine is a '69 Riviera 430 modified to looks like a 350 Buick engine, which is the one in this particular version. Lots of scratch in the engine bay, put some flocking on the interior, and also work on the seat belt, add some "wood" decals ont the central console and on the door panels also. The Pontiac rallye wheels are the one from the kit, and must I say the most beautiful repro of these wheels I've never seen !!!!! Hope you'll like it, I'm quite happy about how it looks and about the fact I could finish this built !!
mangodart Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 Some more pics : Let me know what you think about it

george 53 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Gotta agree, It IS a great lookin job! Not a kit you see built up often though. You did a GREAT job. GREAT color!
W-409 Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 That is very cool! These are nice cars, and I'd like to have one on my shelf too. You did great work with the paint and detail on this one. Great - and unique build!
drodg Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 That is cool. Probably won't see another one of those built this week!
421gto Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 That is nicely done. Makes you wonder why you don't see more of them. I really like it but I gotta ask,,, why the Buick engine instead of a Pontiac engine as it looks like you're going for a "factory stock" build? Steve, I think 74 was when the Pontiac 350 was dropped, and in 75 they went with the Buick 350 in its place cheers Si
mangodart Posted August 12, 2013 Author Posted August 12, 2013 Thanks for your comments Steve : I put the 350 Buick inside because that's the one which was originaly in. I don't remember in which year it starts, but GM surely for economic reasons starts to use only a few amounts of engine, which means that you could have a Buick engine in a Pontiac or an Oldsmobile. The Ventura was available with the 250ci 6 ( from Chevy ), the 262 V8 ( also from Chevy ) and this 350 from Buick ( I don't think I forget one but in case let me know )
DR Dubois Posted August 12, 2013 Posted August 12, 2013 Love it! Very nicely done. Wish there was an Olds Omega kit. My first car was an Omega with a 350 four bolt main, high rise dome and headers. LOVED that car.
