Born in '95, by that point styling gave its self up for aerodynamics, if I had to choose I would say the '95 Impala SS in black of course. But as my parents say, my taste reflects that of a man born in '62, at which point my choice would be a Dodge D100

Hmmm......................I'd have to go with the 1968 Barracuda. It has all the details I love from the era. The split grill, great looking tail light panel. Engine options from mild to wild, and I love a fastback.

Nice looking car but am I crazy ?? It kind of looks like a custom Karma Ghia to me. Look at the roof line and the rear body hip. No ?

You have a good eye. It's a Ghia-designed show car built for Chrysler. A few years later, the styling cues you mention were carried over to the the '55 VW Karmann Ghia (designed by Ghia, bodies built by Karmann). I think the design works better as the front-engined vehicle, in the Ghia original.

For right now, I have to settle for this on the shelf.

Wow that is cool! As Stock Eliminator Racer myself, I'd love to see more pictures of that one. ;)

I like my Mopars, but my favorite '55 vintage has to be a Chevy. BelAir, 210, it don't matter, in the style of a Jr Stock from the late '60s or a classic gasser.

Wow. Thanks for all the great replies on this.

I looked into Delehaye a bit and if you haven't you really should! All of their cars are marvelous creations IMO. Dear Moebius,......

Heller made a Delehaye 135 said to be a 1935. This is similar to the 11946 one I posted in this thread.

Gunze Sangyo also made a 1937 Delahya 135. Both are 1/24.

Too hard, I love them all from 1950. I have tried to collect as many models from that year as I can. The only 1:1 vehicle I have owned from 1950 is a Chevy Pickup so, I will go with that. Great topic!

I'm like Tom Shirley and Richard Hass, it says "War Baby" at the top of my birth certificate. In 1944 every thing was olive drab green, or navy blue or gray depending, and Uncle Sam had an ID tag on everything. The good thing was that we got to buy all the good cars you talked about when they were just cheep old used cars. My #1 son came home in a new 1966 Impala SS 396 4-speed. #2 son in a new 1968 Bel Air 427 4-speed. Insurance was thru the roof, but the insurance companies never thought someone would get a big engine in a Bel Air. Insurance dropped in half. They never had to pay a claim, so no harm done. To Ray Kurn, The Crestliner started in 1950. Yes I had one. This was Fords answer to the GM hardtops until they could build theirs in 1951. They were really good car, I owned several and loved them all.
