charlie8575 Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Well, my morning has started off so beautifully. Well, at least the weather is nice.... 1. My car won't be back for about a week and a half. 2. I've had one interview all summer- and just received word I didn't get the job, and I was a leading candidate. I still have a few resumes out, so I'm hoping something hits. Charlie Larkin
cobraman Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 That I'm off from work this week and my wife (who is not off) sees fit to wake me up at 6:30 every morning when I could sleep in a bit! No doubt done on purpose! This morning she was spraying hair spray in the bedroom. So maybe on Saturday I'll get up at 6:30 and spray some Dullcote in the bedroom just for fun! Hey Tom. I'm retired so I guess I could sleep in every day but I do not. I get up at 5 am to get my wife up and see that she gets off to work. I make her lunch while she is getting ready for work and then walk her out to the garage and see her off. What a sap I am !!! : )
Tom Geiger Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 The garage is right under my bedroom. When she hits the button on the garage door opener at 8:30 AM the rattling sound coming up through the floor of the motor on the opener jolts me awake. I know that most people would be up and about by 8:30 AM but I'm retired and would usually get up closer to 10 AM. Yeah, I know...... I've got a tough life huh? I know that sound! My bedroom is over the garage too. Only I have the Geo Tracker in one side, and the other is full of "stuff". So you know the solution? Buy yourself a collector car... yea another '59 Dodge will fill up that garage nicely!
Agent G Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 What's left you say? BEM - Booger Eating Moron NARS - Not A Rocket Scientist Oh and naturally the guy in the Cardinals t shirt is the one making fun of the Moran family. Really? Stay classy St Louis. G

I'd love to do that Tom, but I stopped driving after I had my strokes due to left side peripheral vision loss. Besides, the wife wouldn't go for leaving her car outside during winter's snowy months.
Joe Handley Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 Got infront of somebody who put HID's on his stripper Nissan Versa and was pretty much blinded for a couple miles, then when I did move into a turnlane and the car went past, it also had blacked out tail lights!
mnwildpunk Posted August 1, 2014 Posted August 1, 2014 What happens to peoples sense of humor that is what irks me most
Kris Morgan Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) I am selling my sons 99 Crown Vic. I had a guy call with a few questions about the car and, about Crown Vics in general. He asked if he could come by to look at it. Of course I said yes. So, he comes by checks it out. He says it seems to be a good car. I ask if he wants to make an offer. His reply was I am just looking, I like looking at different types of cars. WHAT? Edited August 3, 2014 by Kris Morgan
unclescott58 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Issues of fear and dishonesty I'm reading in some of the postings lately. Scott Edited August 5, 2014 by unclescott58
unclescott58 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) ? The posting on Photoshopping models and perverts hanging around hobby stores. More things we have to worry about? I expect people to be decent and honest. I believe most people are. Maybe I'm wrong, but I hope not. Scott Edited August 3, 2014 by unclescott58
Harry P. Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 We go by the honor system here. We assume that people who post photos of their work haven't, uh... "enhanced" their work digitally. But if they have, there's nothing we can do about it. If people want to scam us, they will. But most wouldn't do that... that's the good news!
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I expect people to be decent and honest. I believe most people are. Maybe I'm wrong, but I hope not. Scott Leave your wallet somewhere with $100 in it and see how that works for you.
madhorseman Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 (edited) Went to Wallyworld today, and got into "speedy checkout" 10 items or less lane. Started to think I'd misread, and it was 110 items or less, cause the couple in front of me was pulling item after item out of their cart. Like one of those clown cars, at the circus!! unclescott58 Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Leave your wallet somewhere with $100 in it and see how that works for you. I'm sure your right. But, isn't that sad? And by the way, I don't think that is a new phenomenon. There have been dishonest people since the beginning of time. I only thing I can do is be as honest of a person as I can be. And even then that doesn't always work out perfectly. But, I keep trying, and overall I think I'm doing a pretty good job of it. I would try to get the $100 back to its rightful owner. Scott
Superpeterbilt Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 People that dont know how to use ebay. Specifically, the messaging. This is the 3rd time Ive had someone ask a question, or make a request in the feedback line. This guy bought one rebuilder truck from me and paid immediatley. He bought two more resin cabs from me 3 days later. I saw that he was the bidder, so I held the first item in case he won all 3, Id combine them and save him some money. Well he didnt pay for the other two for 16 days, and when he does he leaves feedback for the first thing when I havent sent it yet. The positive feedback says "lookin for more resin cabs and chassis".??????????!!!!!!!!!????? Dude! Send me a message!!! I dont understand the world anymore.

I always said these things would happen when computers got cheap and too easy to use! I used to sell old car brochures on eBay. I sold a brochure to a guy and by chance checked the feedback he left... I was shocked to see he recently left neutrals and three negatives for different sellers. In reading his comments, he didn't understand that he was rating a seller... he thought he was writing a review of the brochures he bought! He would leave negatives like, "Didn't like brochure. Small and not in color". Total idiot! At least he liked my brochure!
Harry P. Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 Never underestimate the stupidity of the general public.

cobraman Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 Two things irked me today. Both are types of drivers I encountered on the way home from the doctors this morning. I may have mentioned these before because I come across them often. First is the tailgater. Had a couple today. While looking out the rear view mirror of my F 150 I could not see a bit of grill of the car behind me. This guy was right up my tailgate. No way on this Gods green earth could this guy ever stop if I had to. What's your hurry ? Secondly are the people who although they know where their exit from the freeway is wait till they are right on top of it before pulling over to the right to take the exit. Oh and don't get me started on the people who merge onto the freeway at 25 mph. !
Rob Hall Posted August 5, 2014 Posted August 5, 2014 (edited) On the freeway yesterday and this morning I encountered 'non committal exiters'...i.e. people driving along in an exit lane that decide they don't want to exit...then cut back in front of me w/ no signals at the last minute before the split..arrrgggh. I try and stay in the center lane, but usually get over in the far right before the freeways end/split. Edited August 5, 2014 by Rob Hall
