chachie Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) Is acrylic a standard for interior? I am still learning modeling. My day job is painting/art with a preference of acrylic for my big canvas stuff, so Id love to work with it. For me, its the easiest to control in tight situations. But...assuming this is acrylic paint specific for modeling Edited September 25, 2013 by chachie
Bastardo Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 At first I was kind of sorry you didn't leave in primer grey (I'm a rat-rod fanatic and I just can't help myself... ), but after taking a few more looks at it in that wonderfull green color I changed my mind. Great work you've done so far, Marc!
Steven Zimmerman Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 For those of you interested in these wheels, I offer them - along with around 20 other styles- on Facebook, and at Sylvania / Toledo NNL, Detroit NNL, NNL east, and various other shows / swap meets in the Northwest Pa. area, as availability permits. Look me up on Face book as Steven Zimmerman. I do not have a website, as yet..........'Z'
shucky Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Marc, welcome back and awesome job. The wheels and color are perfect!

Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted September 25, 2013 Author Posted September 25, 2013 x2 !!! Where can we find those rims ??? Steven Zimmerman makes them. His reply is #29 on this thread. No website right now. Best way is to find him on Facebook.
BigBad Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) Looks great, good color, gotta love those deep dished rally wheels... Everything's great! I miss that deep dished wheel look, nowadays every car has "flat looking" positive offset wheels, even the muscle cars... So sad. Edited September 25, 2013 by BigBad
Terryk2003 Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 (edited) Fred Cady is out of business, but Keith Marks still makes them. public.fotki.com/mofobow Contact Keith at mofobow@hotmail.com Thanks for the info! Edited September 26, 2013 by Terryk2003
mikemodeler Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Very nice but more important is welcome back!! Nice to see you back building Marc!
W-409 Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 I've been missing your builds Marc, welcome back! I like the subject, since I've always thought that '71 Chevelle is much better than '70. Nice paint work also, excellent color choice. The interior looks sharp too. Those wheels just don't fit into this car, but that's just me, I have never liked any bigger wheels than 15".
Steven Zimmerman Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Several have privately messaged me and asked how they can reach me on facebook. Apparently there are a lot of "Steven Zimmerman's" on facebook. I am a member of the following modeller's groups; look me up there :Kelli's in scale salvage.....Layitlow Model Section Group....Model Cars...The Outsiders Model Car Club. I belong to about 40 others, but these are the ones I visit most. Marc is also a member of the Outsiders...........Steven Zimmerman aka the'Z'man
drodg Posted September 26, 2013 Posted September 26, 2013 Nice build. I have the Heavy Chevy decals from Keith and I am going to eventually do a 72. I have been wondering where to get a bench seat so thanks for the info.
exesivefire Posted September 27, 2013 Posted September 27, 2013 Awesome build! I love everything you have done so far!
berr13 Posted September 29, 2013 Posted September 29, 2013 I like the color, too, Marc, and I've got a question for you. Did you use a silver, gold, or whatever under the Citrus Yellow, or is it just sprayed over the primer? Does the Citrus Yellow need something metallic underneath to give it the full effect?
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted September 29, 2013 Author Posted September 29, 2013 I like the color, too, Marc, and I've got a question for you. Did you use a silver, gold, or whatever under the Citrus Yellow, or is it just sprayed over the primer? Does the Citrus Yellow need something metallic underneath to give it the full effect? Just sprayed it directly over Tamiya Grey Primer.
Marc @ MPC Motorsports Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Quick update for tonight. I've finished detailing the front of the body, including headlights, turn signals and grille. Not shown in the photo, but I have also detail painted the rear side marker lights and have applied Bare Metal Foil to the windshield trim. More to come...
slusher Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Super nice work on the grill and light detail..
