kilrathy10 Posted September 24, 2013 Posted September 24, 2013 (edited) Found these at Dollar General for $5 each....I thought they might have some potential for a decent load for something....It looks as though, I was right.....I was surprised at my find and, with a little work, I think these will be quite convincing; and for $5, I don't think I could go wrong....So I bought 3 of them..... kilrathy10 Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 (edited) Started work on the tractors to make them look a little more realistic....I started by disassembling one of them to see what could be done....I found that if I only change the seat and the steering wheel, it would single handedly bring it to 1/25 scale....So I did this and painted the whole assembly black.....Then I painted the hydraulic cylinders silver, and built a bucket for one of them....I think it worked out pretty good....Now it's just time for some weathering and a mud bath.....I'll get to that pretty soon....For now, here's some pics.... This is what the tractors looked like unaltered and what they look like, now.... Edited October 2, 2013 by kilrathy10
Gimlet6 Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Very nice model and a great idea with the tractors! I think I will check my local DG and see if they have any. I am looking for something to put on the lowboy I just finished.
Heartattaq Posted October 24, 2013 Posted October 24, 2013 Great idea for the load, tough to find any toy for under 5.00 nowadays, definitely an inspiring build.
