For me it's several kits. The Johan Chrysler Turbine, the Johan 1970 Oldsmobile 442, the Johan 1968 Plymouth police car. Everyone of those that I find I buy. Unless the seller thinks they see made out of gold, then I pass. The police car was the first kit I ever built on my own as a kid. I still have most of it. The Turbine is just a great kit of a really neat car that could have changed history. The Oldsmobile is just one of those things, it doesn't do anything particularly well, but there's just something about it.

I have a weakness for the Tamiya Lotus 99T kit(really, all of their F-1 kits).I built one several years ago, bought two other built ups cheap, now have two or three of the early version and one of the modified reissued version. It's a relatively simple kit, goes together well and looks good when finished.I wish I could find the Leyton House March kits like I find the Lotus kits.

There are other kits of which I have more examples( like the current edition '57 Chevy 150 sedan)but I have enough of those others to satisfy me(unless I hit upon an irresistible deal).

1/16 MPC cars. Have gotten my hands on original issue/still in plastic General Lee, Street Charger and Super Charger. Still looking for clear bodied Petty Charger and Buddy Baker Charger, preferably still in plastic. When I get the originals, I buy the re-popped versions as well

Anyone have the orginal Petty and Baker kits, I'm buying, $$$.

I don't know if these are clear-bodied or just cutaway drawings on the box, but there are plenty here:

I've got a bunch of those also....2 '71 Impalas, 2 '72s, 2 '73 Caprices, 4 '74s (want to convert one to a convertible) '3 '75s, and probably 8 '76s (original and reissues).

unless I am parting them out for other projects, or planning on building in different styles, I rarely buy multiples of a single kit to build it as it is.

I have seen really nice "collections" get parted out and sold for way less than their true value when a builder passes away and their family has no idea of the value. (not just models, but any collectible, Stamps, coins, whatever)

My stash/tools/paints are to be left to a builder friend, and my built ups to my sons and my dad. If I had a bunch of "valuable" kits, especaily those that I had multiples and would likely never build, my wife would have no clue what to do with them or how to get that value out of them. I have always been leary about collections of anything for that reason. What you put that time and love into, it is likely those around you will not know the full value. It was not their hobby.

4 '74s (want to convert one to a convertible)

Steve Milberry has mastered this and last I heard it was at a caster getting copied. It looks great!

Yes, I remember seeing the WIP pics of it...looking forward to getting one if it becomes available. A couple of the '76s I have are for parts to use with the Modelhaus resin '73 wagon and '75 Impala 4dr.

Also Chrysler Turbine cars, The JoHan Mercedes' and those Trumpeter Chinese limousines. Found one buy a different Chinese maker but it seems to be the same car as the Trumpeter.

I think I have 4 or 5 of the Entex/Grip/Edai 1/8 scale Lotus 72D kits...some still in bags, a couple started and awaiting time and space to work on. Seems ridiculous, but I have plans to build 3 different versions of it. If I could come up with an accurate set of "Lucky Strike" decals for that version I'd drop other projects and start working on it.

Same with the 1/12 Fujimi Nissan Skyline GT-R. I have the Calsonic version almost ready to detail the body (decals and paint on), but I am converting the red/black Taisan to a surprise I won't reveal until it's well into WIP or done. I want to pop them both onto the show circuit while they are rare and in the case of the second one, nonexistent.

Valiants... I have more than I'll ever use, and every cabinet I open I find more. Some of which I swear I never saw before. I have several to many of every year mint in box, loads of builders, tons of old built ups and of course a bunch of neat ole customs! I even once bought a full case of the '62 customizing kit. I still have the empty case,

I've tried to stop buying them, but at every show people come up to me to tell me about a Valiant for sale in the next aisle. So I have many enablers!

Yep ! Jo-Han Caddy Hearse and Monogram Uncertain T , but only when I can get them for "pocket-money". I'd never spend big bucks on a kit as I want to BUILD them, not collect them.... ;)

MPC Pinto Pro Stocks either Dyno Don or Gapp & Roush. I have four and I think the parts to build another. Also have several stock Pinto kits for parts use.

Where to start? For a while, I was on a quest to buy original AMT Ala-Kart kits, and I did. Lots! I also have a soft spot for AMT's original issues of their '36, '49 and '57 Ford kits, so I tend to watch for them on the 'Bay. My stash has no rhyme or reason, and I just buy what strikes my fancy.
