smellyfatdude Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Finally finished this today, after taking my sweet time. I broke one of the original wheel covers, trying to pry it in to those too small tires. Ehh, live and learn, so I simply switched gears. One of the reference cars I saved photos of had some delicious 5 spoke rims, so I dug out the ones from the AMT ' 53 Stude kit, put some flat clear on the spokes and used them. The kit had a dash mounted rear view mirror, so I grabbed one from a ' 71 Hemi Cuda kit. Everything else it outta the box.
bbowser Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Great looking Galaxie, those wheels look right at home.
berr13 Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 (edited) Beautiful color, great paint job, fine work. Job well done! What kind of paint did you use? Edited October 29, 2013 by berr13
Guest Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Sweet! Look at the back of the rear fender, angle is the same as a 62 Chev. Never noticed that before.
Speedfreak Posted October 29, 2013 Posted October 29, 2013 Beautiful car D.W., that red just jumps off that thing! Good observation Lee, I can see the similarities.
TooOld Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Super nice build ! Don't think I've ever seen one finished before . I like everything about it . Brings back memories here too , my brother's first car was identical ( except for the mirror ) !
charlie8575 Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 About the only I'd do is add a set of VinylNation whitewalls. Other than that, sheer perfection. Charlie Larkin
slusher Posted October 30, 2013 Posted October 30, 2013 Sweet build SFD, very nice detail and love the interior
