Joker Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Finished the Testors burgundy '48 Carson Top Ford. Went for a Ayala/Barris/Alexander kustom style with full fadeaway fenders from the Revell '48 kit. Head lites are the small buckets from a '32 and the rear lites are painted on the bumper guards. Carson top is a vacuumed form piece with a small height reduction for better flow. Full wheel covers are original issue '36 Ford (thanks Bill). Dupli-Color T278 dark canyon red...white primer on the Carson top. Trunk opened and trimmed with the usual suspects ...Gas/Oil/H2O cans spare tire and chrome fire fire extinguisher. thanks for checking out the build thread. 62rebel Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Joker, that's a bear of a kit to do OOB much less customize. great job! I don't even think i'd attempt using one of those bodies when Revell has their new version out. impressive work.
doggie427 Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Wonderful build James . Cutting the door lines into the fadeaways must have been exceptionally tricky. Great job !
TooOld Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 Beautiful work James ! I like the detailing of the interior especially the partially rolled up windows ! Cool looking ride with the Carson top .
Joker Posted October 31, 2013 Author Posted October 31, 2013 Thanks Y'all ... I truly enjoyed slinging styrene at this one.

Ace-Garageguy Posted October 31, 2013 Posted October 31, 2013 (edited) Very pretty, very authentic, very well done. The lines of the roof, the fadeaways and the curved-rear side windows work together perfectly. Perfect color, too. Edited October 31, 2013 by Ace-Garageguy
