Rick Schmidt Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Here She is all ready to rile up the Masses and cause Hysteria among the Concours crowd. Got her channeled the height of the frame then I lowered her about 2 scale inches. Most of the car is out of its kit box just Modified to my liking. The only parts added from the Rod Box are the 4 side drafts, the steering wheel and the tail lights. The Rear Windshield is chopped about 2 inches to put it more in porportion with the fronts rake. The 4 side drafts come about just for the look. It was supercharged but I decided to do away with that for the look of the carbs. I decided to keep the kit exhaust because it looked "hot rod " enough. The front spreader bar is modified fro the kit spreader and retains the center driving light the original had. Ok time for me to shut my face and show ya the rod. These pics are indoor I'll get her outside and do a few outside shots soon.
wkennerley Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Now whilst I would be really pissed if someone did this to a real Duesenberg, this does look very nice - Wayne
slusher Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Very cool and unique hot rod. Very cool ldea also...
cobraman Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Did not expect that. Very cool and room for the family ! : )
Jeepgirl Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 The little part of my heart that is reserved for Duesenberg's is aching...but you did a fine job putting her together. I haven't had the guts to chop and channel any of the true oldies yet. One of these days I will break down and do it. Great work!
Danno Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Kewl! But, Dude! You gotta drill and bevel the bells of those air horns! The flat faces with mold separation lines just dismantle the overall coolness of your model.
patami Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Wait while i collect my jaw from the flor That cool as hell mi like a lot
Tom Geiger Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Nice build. The magic of model cars, no actual Duesenbergs were harmed during this production!
Sixties Sam Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Nice build. The magic of model cars, no actual Duesenbergs were harmed during this production! I agree! Great concept, well done! Sam
TooOld Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Very original idea and great execution ! You've done a great job on this one !
crazyjim Posted November 8, 2013 Posted November 8, 2013 Pretty cool build. I like it when people modify "classics". I'm working on a '32 Chrysler that's going to have a V12 Hemi.
Chris White Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 There is something so wrong and so right, all at the same time
ToyLvr Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Now whilst I would be really pissed if someone did this to a real Duesenberg, this does look very nice - Wayne Yup, absolute sacrilege. However, since Fred & Augie built race cars, too, they might have liked the "look"....
Mike 1017 Posted November 10, 2013 Posted November 10, 2013 Great concept.I think that people would applaud a Dusey like this .After all they were raced. A 1:1 built like this would be KOOl
