mrmike Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 (edited) This is my '57 Ford Custom that I call "Spearmint". It is painted with Tamiya TS-20 Metallic Green and Tamiya TS-7 Racing White. The interior is painted with Humbrol Dragoon Green. Edited November 16, 2013 by mrmike
Genegenie Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Nice model !! ....but the kit I bought, had a slight twist to the body and the hood wouldn't fit square, otherwise a good release by Revell
Harry P. Posted November 16, 2013 Posted November 16, 2013 Nice. Simple, clean and basic. And a very typical looking (and attractive) '50s paint scheme. Good stuff!
TooOld Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Beautiful ! I especially like the photos of the front and rear , great detailing !
slusher Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Very sharp build Mike, colors work so well together. l enjoyed watching you build it...
rmvw guy Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 Looks good, nice color choice. The engine looks sweet. Thanks for sharing.
W-409 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I agree with everyone else. A Great looking Fairlane with beautiful color scheme. Green and white fit perfectly together, especially in body like this. Sharp details all around, too.
Ace-Garageguy Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I agree with everyone else. A Great looking Fairlane with beautiful color scheme. Green and white fit perfectly together, especially in body like this. Sharp details all around, too. X2. Nice stance too. It appears to have a slight nose-down rake, which works perfectly with the overall look.
charlie8575 Posted November 17, 2013 Posted November 17, 2013 I must admit, I do like the colors on it. Nice build Mike, I'll look forward to seeing it at MassCar in March. Charlie Larkin
1972coronet Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Love your Spearmint MCMLVII Ford , Mike ! Its colour scheme is a true standout ; a really unique combo , and just right for a working man's vehicle
the goon Posted November 18, 2013 Posted November 18, 2013 Good job. two of my favorite things; '57 Ford, and green Mark
mrmike Posted November 21, 2013 Author Posted November 21, 2013 Thanks everyone! X2. Nice stance too. It appears to have a slight nose-down rake, which works perfectly with the overall look. Actually, that nose down rake comes via a jacked up rear and large diameter tires.
bbowser Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Way better than yet another '57 Chevy. Great model!
Greg Cullinan Posted November 21, 2013 Posted November 21, 2013 Looks good and a great color choice. I'm looking forward to doing this kit,any hiccups for you?
mrmike Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 Thanks Greg! This model went together without any problems. The only thing I can recommend is to be very careful installing the hood onto the body. Carefully bend the hood slightly in the center and slip the mounting pins into place.
Speedfreak Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Great build Mike! I loved the story and the WIP. Oh, and '57 Ford's aren't too bad either
