Barbo Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 (edited) Hi....I have a topic in the ''Dioramas'' Thread , wich I did thinking at the moment only in dioramas builders. But , this can happen to any theme modeler . A few of my Dioramas projects did not made it for 2007 , so they will be my priority along with other ideas on my drawing board... (check the comments in DIORAMAS also) ''What models did not make it for 2007, and whats on you drawing board ??...........Be Happy....Barbo. Edited November 18, 2007 by Barbo
mackinac359 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I've still got projects from '04 that I haven't finished.. The ones started in '07 that have been moved to the back of the shelf will probably see the light of day again in '10 or '11 ! Tim
CAL Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 what's not going to make it for 2007? My super detailed Mazda 787B My super detailed Enzo Ferrari My Revell F1 Ferrari F2003 My Tamiya Serian My super detailed ME-109 My super detailed Johan 500K Mercedes My super detailed Tamiya F4U Corsair My F350 ambulance conversion a few large scale figure kits On the drawing board? I am supposed to be getting a "top secret" set of factory drawings for a Porsche 917, if I do get those drawings it's going to be a large scale 917 from scratch. If not I will be cleaning up some old projects from the past. What I am hoping is Eleanor makes it for the 2007 cut off.
Guest roadkill2525 Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 (edited) There's about three kits that didn't make 2007. First is my AMT '67 Impala lowrider, black with red interior and some Pegasus wire wheels. Next was my '99 Honda Civic Si, Nassau Blue Met. with med. blue/med. grey interior and wheels from my '93 Civic painted gold. Had to strip Tamiya primer because the paint wasn't working with it. Finally was my '89 Turbo Trans Am, going with a leather interior (only 24 hardtop & leather interior cars in 1:1) but have only completed the engine so far. I've planned out a number of builds that I want to accomplish '87 Buick Grand National in all black or black & gunmetal '70 Buick GSX in Apollo White '70 Boss 429 Mustang in Grabber Orange '65 Impala street machine '63 Impala lowrider/cruiser in Plum Crazy '71 Datsun 510 street machine/SCCA racer/autocross thingy '67 GTX in B5 Blue with black interior '69 Charger in Italian Red with white vinly top and interior Ford Focus panel hatchback, in primer Edited November 19, 2007 by roadkill2525

Gray Smith Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I've got a bunch that I started this year and last, but the ones I really wanted to get done this year were.. my 68 Camaro Track Beast - overcomplicationitis hit it The Dohc Deuce 32 Ford - Modelers ADD hit it..plus I'm waiting for the money to buy some detail parts... My Tamiya Ferrari Modena Challenge Stradale - an ill fitting/inaccurate resin trans kit and the desire to make it all correct, yet no time nor not enough ability to make it correct yet. My Ferrari Daytona Speciale - a custom 356 Daytona mild racer - Modelers ADD and hitting a wall trying to come up with an induction set-up that fits under the close quarters of the hood Revell 29 Ford pickup - was going to be a rat rod as built by a guy who has built imports...turbo/efi banger with old school jdm 15" rims over a heavily channeled and z-d frame...now currently being re-thought into a Jarius Rod style creation more befitting of the kit.. Thats all I can think of at the moment.... maybe, i'll these done sometime next year... Gray
MrObsessive Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 My '55 Ford definitely won't make by the end of the year.............too much stuff to do yet! Of course, there's the stillborn '64 GTO which I've totally lost interest in. Don't look for that one to be done anytime soon..........
CAL Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 (edited) Advanced Modeling Syndrome (AMS) got you down? Have you been diagnosed or know somebody with AMS? Maybe you think you may have AMS? You probably do. Well help is on the way. There is now a treatment program for those suffering from AMS without expensive therapy, electro-shock treatment, or medications. No more starting 20 kits and starting five more before the first one is finished. No more five-year stalls on project that would only take another few weeks to finish. No more talking about it on the Internet and then feeling bad because that’s all you have accomplished on it for the last five months is talking about it. No more stillborn projects that you loose intrest in. Take back control of your modeling and JUST DO IT. Wouldn’t you like to have just one model on your bench again without have 25 hanging over your head. This is a public service announcement from the AMS Solutions Society AMSSS. See your participating LHS or IPMS chapter for further information and help because you, too, can recover from AMS. Edited November 19, 2007 by CAL
Zoom Zoom Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 This year my modeler's ADD was afflicted with the following projects started, and likely not finished before the end of '07: Cobra 427; many have seen it in primer... now it's painted in raw aluminum w/polished stripes. Maybe done before '07 exits. Depression nearly set in when I got the WIX filters awesome 427 Cobra S/C for 25 bucks and realized my model will never be as detailed...I need to focus on it's uniqueness and just get it done now. Chrysler 300C SRT-8 sedan (stock conversion) Chrysler 300C SRT-8 Touring (the nose graft work went well...) Dodge Magnum combined w/Nissan Skyline GT R-34 front end Original AMT Astro I showcar Ferrari F430 Challenge-started in '06, still waiting for me to figure out air jacks Others itching for starting and completion: Porsche Cayman (2 or 3 variants, at least one of which will be a group build involving several friends) Modelmartin/Aardvark Firebird III Tamiya Ferrari FXX (group build w/several friends) Ducati 916 Vintage Mercedes SLR Ulenhaut coupe
dub Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 I'll chip in here. I don't have nearly as many as most of you, but that said I only really started to build seriously in March of this year. My list is long enough that I don't feel out of place if you consider the amount of projects versus the time spent on the hobby.... 66 Nova Pro-Touring ...no idea when 61 Ranchero ....This one is moving but very slowly. Deuce Roadster ....Another one I'm not doing much on but here and there. Chezoom ....no rush, just paint and BMF practice. 69 Chevelle .....not sure what I'll do with it yet. 90 Corrado from Revell .......back burner big time! VW Golf I from Mitsuwa resto .......even farther on the back burner! I do have a few others that should make the cutoff: 90 454SS .....box-stock; should get it done.... 32 Phantom Vicky .... Need to repaint hood and grille and finish assembly 49 Merc ...need to repaint and assemble (I keep forgetting about it so it might not get there...) 89-ish two-tone Sliverado ....waiting for the hood and of course the rat on my workbench right now!!! Also I am fortunate enough to say I finished five builds this year!
Olle F Posted November 19, 2007 Posted November 19, 2007 This thread is quite intimidating to me... don't think I want to open it again.
LVZ2881 Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 I started 4 and finished 2 this year. I didnt finish the replica stock '86 Monte Carlo SS for my mom, as she had one brand new. and I didnt finish the Aoshima BMW M1 racecar that i started while in a hotel room for 3 weeks in LA. its the old motorized toy, and not too worried about finishing it. I have afew from prior years that have been sitting unfinished too: '68 Firebird 400, needs polish, BMF, and finish assembly '69 Cougar Pro-Touring, needs same as above '57 Chevy s/m, needs paint, redo interior '70 Toyota Celica, 1/2 done
Jantrix Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Um...............well.......although I have worked on several, I'm coming up witha big fat goose egg for 2007. I do have one VERY close though, and it's possible to finish it before 2008, so finger crossed. However I would like to send a big old to the thread originator who made me realize this this shameful fact.
Billy Kingsley Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 I could type for 24 hours and still not finish....That's the problem of having almost 200 projects in progress, 99 of which are NASCAR! 2007 is not over yet, though, there's still time to get in a few more...
Barbo Posted November 20, 2007 Author Posted November 20, 2007 Well.........I would say it has been very interesing the fact that we are all in the same situation , more or less. I think this is what makes this Hobby so dif. and interestng . There will always be a model waiting to be alive in our workshp..........I think that the moment I say , I HAVE FINISHED building the last model , I have forgaten what is the meaning of ''FUN''.....................Be Happy...........Barbo

lordairgtar Posted November 21, 2007 Posted November 21, 2007 OH MY. The last one I finished was two years ago, a 56 Chevrolet Del Ray 6 cylinder. Whats on the table is a 2007 HHR Panel being made from a toy RC car; Galaxy 48 Chevy, frame done, trim made from strip styrene added to the body; 68 Beaumont, body being converted from 69 Chevelle; Fuso truck and auto hauler from Japan with assorted Japanese vintage cars for it to haul; plus various promos to fix up and paint as soon as I can afford the new chrome bits from Modelhaus.
