Harry P. Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 Enough with this Polar Vortex I am ready for 60* 60? I'm ready for 80!
Joe Handley Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 60? I'm ready for 80! Same here, wouldn't mind just skipping February and go straight into May?
Harry P. Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 Same here, wouldn't mind just skipping February and go straight into May? If I was King of the World, my calendar would be May, June, July, August, September. That's it.
Tom Geiger Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Some winter shots in my back yard for folks who have never seen snow.... When someone says to me, "And if you believe that, I have a bridge I want to sell you..." I respond, "No thanks I already own one." The brook that runs down the middle of my back yard (which is why I own a bridge) Ted out near the pool. This is why my pool temperature indicator said 4 degrees last week. We're not going swimming for a long while! And the view from the model room upstairs. Yea, summer would be nice about now!
Harry P. Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 Summer would be great... but that winter view from your model room window is pretty nice!
High octane Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Bring it (snow) on as we're gettin' closer to spring everyday now. As far as months go, I like April thru October myself.
Joe Handley Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Ooooooohhhhhhhhh, that yard looks awesome for running a scare r/c truck!
madhorseman Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 If I was King of the World, my calendar would be May, June, July, August, September. That's it. Me I like spring, and fall...not too hot,,not too cold!!
DrKerry Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 The brook that runs down the middle of my back yard (which is why I own a bridge) I'd love to walk that creek bed..... I'd be looking for Indian artifacts!!!!
High octane Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 That creek bed may not have been there when the Indians roamed the area Kerry, as nature has a way of changing the course of creeks, rivers, etc. over time.
DrKerry Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 True, but the waters that come from up stream could wash points from fields etc into it and carry them down.

Agent G Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Did the midwest get the ice storm predicted for last night? G
mikemodeler Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I hear Chicago may get upwards of 10 or more inches of snow today- you have my condolences as it has be to getting old by now! On the bright side, what little snow we had in Charlotte this week is gone with temps in the 50s today!
High octane Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Yep, we've had another snowfall last night and no newspaper in the driveway again this morning. Soon I'm gonna do a "Trump" (Donald) and fire them! Guess I'll "suit up" soon and go play with the shovel and snow-blower. At least it's another day closer to spring. More snow comin' too, oh boy, oh joy!
Custom Hearse Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Did the midwest get the ice storm predicted for last night? G Here in West central Missouri we got about a 1/4th to 1/2 inches of ice. Just helped a neighbor lady up after she slipped. Fortunately she wasn't hurt, just a little shaken up.
Joe Handley Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 I'll be heading out after lunch to clear the drives and back yard, luckily there us a Jeep sized section that shouldn't be bad, maybe a Ford Ranger sized one in the neighors drive too. Dad borrowed my Jeep to go get breakfast for him and Mom and was happy he did. The city plowed the drive in and their van wouldn't have made it out if he had.

Harry P. Posted February 1, 2014 Author Posted February 1, 2014 With all the snow we're getting this winter around here, this must be all those "shovel ready jobs" I've heard about...
1930fordpickup Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 We are getting rain now after 2 to 3 inches of snow. What a mess outside. Just North of Toledo Oh .
Pete J. Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 After looking at all of the pictures of snow, I remembered an event of rare snow. This photo was taken in 1972 at Laughlin AFB Texas which is on the border of southwest Texas about 10 miles from the Rio Grande. It snowed for the first time in 30 years. They literally shut the world down. Nobody but us northern boys knew how to drive in this stuff. That is my brand new 72 yellow 240Z in the left corner. Yes, I remember snow!
Agent G Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Pete that reminds me of December '08 when the snow fall here in Las Vegas set an all time record. Dumped 8 inches at my house in Henderson. No one, and I mean no one in my neighborhood could navigate the roads. The four of us who made it in for the nightwatch all come from areas where snow was normal. G
