Harry P. Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 We hit 46 today! But there is SO MUCH snow on the ground that things still look pretty much the same as they did yesterday. We're gonna need a whole lotta melting here before things look different.
High octane Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 That's true Harry as it's gonna take awhile before things look different. I've been in southeastern Wisconsin a couple of times recently, and it looks like we have more snow than they do.
1930fordpickup Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Tried to walk in the yard today. To much snow for a short guy, had to make a short walk back to the driveway.
Tom Geiger Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Tried to walk in the yard today. To much snow for a short guy, had to make a short walk back to the driveway. Its so deep here in PA that the deer are walking down the sidewalk! You can see this guy is up to his body in the snow in my backyard.
1930fordpickup Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Tom that is about how I felt . LOL Not many critters leaving tracks this month . I wonder were they are all hiding?
Craig Irwin Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Well the forecasters have brought back the high 50's forecast for Thursday, Friday says "cold returns", and Monday says "unseasonably cold". Lovely.
Pete J. Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) Well the forecasters have brought back the high 50's forecast for Thursday, Friday says "cold returns", and Monday says "unseasonably cold". Lovely. Well, I guess that begs the question, "What is reasonably cold?" Edited February 19, 2014 by Pete J.
charlie8575 Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 A foot Saturday. Another six or seven inches today. Followed by four days of 40s-50s with rain, which, may or may not be a good thing, depending on how strong the sun is. March 20 is SO far away it seems. Charlie Larkin
High octane Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I was "out and about" today and the snow is definitely melting as the temps are in the mid 40's. Of course we have plenty of sunshine and blue skies as well, and we're another day closer to spring. Yay!
Harry P. Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Forecast for tomorrow: High of 50, strong thunderstorms, local flooding, damaging winds. When it comes to the weather around here, if it's not one thing it's another. Sigh...
Agent G Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Nice thing about that Harry, if you don't like the weather now, just wait 2 hours. G
High octane Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 It'll be warm and dry Harry, if you stay home tomorrow.
Craig Irwin Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Well, I guess that begs the question, "What is reasonably cold?" Low of 12, high of 20.
Harry P. Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 It'll be warm and dry Harry, if you stay home tomorrow. I guess you're right!
Joe Handley Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Forecast for tomorrow: High of 50, strong thunderstorms, local flooding, damaging winds. When it comes to the weather around here, if it's not one thing it's another. Sigh... And usually within 24hours too
oldnslow Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 S is for Sunshine! 81 yesterday and maybe today too, the birds are singing, the cats are yowling and the cars have a yellow dusting of pollen. It's spring time in Paradise.
High octane Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 That's a good way to put it, but today around here S is for "slop" as we got some snow/ ice last night and it looks slushy from my window. Guess I'll have to pull out the Toro?
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) Highs in the 70s here and insanely humid. It seems as though Atlanta only has two seasons now...cold and mold. Edited February 20, 2014 by Ace-Garageguy
Agent G Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Cold front blew through last night. Only going to be 65 or so today. We might even see a cloud. G
Danno Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Couple of them (clouds) down here. Seems chilly today (63 right now).
Harry P. Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Cold front blew through last night. Only going to be 65 or so today. We might even see a cloud. G Do you have your weather emergency preparedness kit ready?
crazyjim Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Cold front blew through last night. Only going to be 65 or so today. We might even see a cloud. G What a bummer, Wayne. Sunny & 77 here in FLA. Almost ready to go out to the shop.
Harry P. Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Cold front blew through last night. Only going to be 65 or so today. We might even see a cloud. G How does the Las Vegas area handle a cloud emergency? I assume mass evacuations?
Agent G Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 How does the Las Vegas area handle a cloud emergency? I assume mass evacuations? Sirens sound and PA systems announce warnings to remain indoors. Those too faint of heart pull the curtains closed. We in the "business" remain ever vigilant while the masses are directed to Arizona or California. In that Arizona experienced a cloud event today as well, California is bracing themselves for the onslaught. G
