I built That Back then!!!

And my 73 has that suspension on it as a 4x4!!!

Of course, It also has th e72's rear bumper & tail lights, as well as Interior!

Need a few parts to restore both!!!

72 was "Painted" blue Metallic IN the Box, and 73 "Gold"

Yea!!

Others had Jacked up Rear suspension, but I think this was the

only one with front lifted axle too!!

It WAS the Last for the Twin inlet Turbo!!

Sadly, I used it, and Cut the hood for it!

Will be a LONG time before I can replace it!!!

That all started in '71 with the "Mild and Wild" series that MPC did. I have a '71 Caprice M&W with those wild parts. I've seen other kits from '71 that were the M&W series like a Vega and Camaro. I don't know how many others there were.

the Jeepster kit had some spoof parts too. I remember the Plymouth Duster with those parts too.

I remember it and thought it was stupid as a twelve year old. Now that I'm in my fifties, I know its stupid.

Of course, I'm sure some will pay stupid prices for it.

They tend to go for around 150-200 which is on par for most "collector kits" I got mine for considerably less than that but hey,.... I like the street freak look of it, and am a sucker for GM big body stuff.

I still have 90% of that kit in a box in pieces, metallic blue plastic body still unpainted. I don't have the gasser suspension or the the 454, I plan on rebuilding it with a big block from my parts box and some normal wheels and tires.

hopefully round 2 will reissue if the mold is still there, thats the thing with paying big bucks for a kit anymore, i remember when the rommels rod and tijuana taxi would go for hundreds on the bay then they both got reissued.

that would suck to pay that much then see its gonna be reissued..............................

I doubt you'll ever see the 72 body back. It was modified every year up until 76, which is the one that gets reissued.

I've got a full size Chevy of every year in my collection from the early 1950s all the way through 1976 EXCEPT for the '72! I don't know why that one is so tough to find. I do have a resin body and a '73 junker to use for the chassis and under parts. The bumpers and front seat are done by Modelhaus, but nobody makes the interior tub. So I keep on lookin'

You may not, but the people who pay big bucks for that kit must...

There was that whole mild n wild thing in '71 -72…

Oh yeah, US NAVY 1969-1973 missed the Aurora Racing Scenes also. :(

These kits also build stock and street machine. They don't have to be built as a high rider.

World's first donk?

Nope, that's MPC trying to cash in on the "Street Freaks" running around then. That one is a little far fetched, Street Freaks for the most part were recycled Race Cars that found their way back on the street. Thankfully that look went away when we learned to narrow rear ends to put wider tires and wheels under the fenderwells where they belonged.

The kit on the box art reminds me of a donk as far as the ride height, but with small tires. I love the '70s MPC Impalas and Caprices...have all the '71-76 annuals and promos and several of the '76 reissues.
