Arnd Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Hi all This is a little project I finished some years ago. It is a home made Chevrolet flat bed truck powered by a Perkins 6 cylinder inline diesel engine. It is build up on a Ford Louisville frame with the C600 bed, a Pick up cab and a scratch build engine. The pics are from during the build, I hope that is ok and you can see how it looks like. I hope to get the time for some better pics in the sun next year. It is home build and not like a real one, but as far as everything is possible in the USA, this truck could drive around somewhere. I hope you enjoy the pics. So long Arnd
bbowser Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Great work on the weathering, very convincing. You nailed it, I've seen a lot of these type trucks around and you've got the look. Thanks for posting.
kilrathy10 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Now, that's some good building....Everything on it looks so real....Just a beautiful job all the way around....Wow!!!!!
george 53 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 My uncle used to have a truck EXACTLY like this! Right down to the RUST!!! GREAT job! Looks GREAT!
towman1271 Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I agree with everything everyone else said... simply amazing job!!!!!!!
Greg Cullinan Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 Looks great. Definitely looks like something you'd see in a yard working.
Modelmikey Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Cool build, looks like a tired old farm truck!
MyBradKeselowski Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 Outstanding ! ! Amazing build and details ! !
BigBad Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 My uncle used to have a truck EXACTLY like this! Right down to the RUST!!! GREAT job! Looks GREAT! With a Perkins diesel or a big block gas Chevy? While I'm not sure for the Perkins engine, I really like your C60 Arnd, it does look like the real thing!
Plastheniker Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 Arnd, a really unusual model. I never saw such a cab before. Es ist schön zu sehen, daß wieder einmal jemand nicht nur schon hundertmal Gesehenes aus dem Kasten baut. Welcome, we hope to see more like this!
Brinx Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 Very nice truck....Looks like a typical farm truck...just ready for a load of apples, corn or hay. Ein gut aussehendes Fahrzeug! (I hope my Google translator didn't just make me look dumb...lol)
wku88 Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Yes, I could see a farmer repowering an old farm truck with a Perkins from a Massey Ferguson combine!
Arnd Posted January 7, 2014 Author Posted January 7, 2014 Hallo all thanks a lot for your grate remarks, it is grate to read that you like this littel girl. It was a lot of fun building up this one. I did some research for the engine and I think I find out that the bigger Dodge pick ups and the smaler trucks so it fits quite well to the chevy. so long Arnd
Badluck 13 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 What can I say that hasn't already been said.........love the weathering/used look......perfect!
Old Buckaroo Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Outstanding, I really like the oil/grease on the block and bell housing. All that is missing is a pack rat nest along the inner fender - firewall area.
ScaleModelAddict Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Great job on the build and the weathering. Looks really great.
vincen47 Posted January 14, 2014 Posted January 14, 2014 Wonderful work! It would look great next to an old barn. Oh, the diorama possibilities.
