That style of top is called a "Carson Top" they became so popular and copied that they were known in generic terms by (I think) a shortened version of the shop's name who first made them. They were a fixed top which did no longer operated as a convertible top. Like most all great Custom Trends they originated in Southern California. Edited February 28, 2014 by Skip
