Chariots of Fire Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 This rig has been in the building stages since last October. It is finally finished and ready to go!
SteveG Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Outstanding build Charlie! Hopefully I'll get a chance to see it up close at the NNL East.
Chariots of Fire Posted February 27, 2014 Author Posted February 27, 2014 Outstanding build Charlie! Hopefully I'll get a chance to see it up close at the NNL East. Hi, Steve. It will be there. Got another one that will be a first show at NNL also.
Aaronw Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Wow, this is just... I'm literally unable to find a real word to describe it, so I'm going to with amazatastic!!
Tony Bryan Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 That is so cool, and beautifully built to Did you scratch the engine on the rear?
freightshaker Posted February 27, 2014 Posted February 27, 2014 Wow that is just incredible. Super job. And h details.. Great job!
randx0 Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Nicely done ! It looks great and a unique subject . The only thing I don't like about it is that I won't be seeing any more updates in the WIP thread .
Harry P. Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Charlie... just to say "nice job" or "great model" doesn't even come close.
Agent G Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Wow, this is just... I'm literally unable to find a real word to describe it, so I'm going to with amazatastic!! Charlie... just to say "nice job" or "great model" doesn't even come close. Uh, what they said, X2. Or more. Flippin' wonderful. G
o-man Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 I just don't know how some of you guys do it. The details are incredible! Awesome truck!
Chariots of Fire Posted February 28, 2014 Author Posted February 28, 2014 Thanks for the kind remarks, Guys. The engine at the rear of the rig is a '32 Ford Model B. I added some things to it but most is out of the box. The head and manifold were missing so I had to scratch build those. There will be a companion piece coming soon. The State of Massachusetts purchased 13 identical '38 Ford COE's after the 1938 hurricane that left so much debris throughout the state. I have a resin cab and will begin collecting data once I find one of the rigs to measure and photograph. There is one still around that I will seek out. Will be posting as I go on this one as well.
Chuck Most Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Loved seeing this one come together, and love the finished product! It would be a shame taking a truck that pretty out into the brush...
Ace-Garageguy Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Wow...your work is first-rate and your choice of material is fascinating. Man...nice stuff.
Pavel A. Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 Outstanding work. Something special. Awesome!
Casey Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 It would be a shame taking a truck that pretty out into the brush... Until you snap over the first sapling with it. What to add that hasn't been said already, though...I've got nuthin' but love for this build.
Plastheniker Posted February 28, 2014 Posted February 28, 2014 (edited) A really unique idea and your immaculate execution made a fantastic model. I love it! Edited February 28, 2014 by Plastheniker
Chariots of Fire Posted March 1, 2014 Author Posted March 1, 2014 Here is a photo of the real truck taking down a 6" pine. This was obviously a demonstration run as there is no fire as you can see.
