Jay t. Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I always liked the traditional looking hot rods. This is Revell's 32 that I chopped the top on. Used masking tape for roof insert and to cover cut when roof had to be stretched. Also cut front frame horns off because I think it looks cleaner. Used the 392 hemi from kit but added various engine parts from AMT's double dragster kit. Headers are from Ohio George 33 Willys. AMT tires up front and old AMT slicks on rear. Thanks for looking....Jay.
Jay t. Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 Thanks for comments guys. It's actually a very light grey Tamiya military color. Bad lighting and Ipad camera make for lousy pictures. One of these days i'll buy a decent camera.
Jay t. Posted May 11, 2014 Author Posted May 11, 2014 Thanks for the comments everybody. Glad you like it.
Dan Helferich Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I like it! Very bad, mean and nasty! who doesn't like an 8 carb early Hemi?
tbill Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 well done, nice clean build. less is more, and you nailed it on this.
Bernard Kron Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 I dig it! A no-nonsense traditional rod. Switching out the kit tires is always a good thing on the Revell 1/25th kits, IMHO. The kit's "fat fronts" are a real deal-breaker. Nice chop, too.
PARTSMARTY Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 that's what I'm talking about-=how can you ever go wrong with a 32-my hearts pounding-lol
oldscool Posted May 11, 2014 Posted May 11, 2014 Well done Deuce! I love them slicks and if that car were real it would be LOUD.
Jay t. Posted May 12, 2014 Author Posted May 12, 2014 Thanks guys for all the cool replies. It's my only hot rod build to date but so many ideas for so many projects and very little time.
