Harry P. Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 Or, you could get really radical and just look at the headlights.
MrObsessive Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 This one! I can't remember the last time I saw a Karmann Ghia on the road! This was parked at the local supermarket which I'm there just about every week, but this is the first I've seen it. It looks very clean and, I'd say it's a '73 or '74 vintage? These were EVERYWHERE when I was a kid, but most have disappeared from the streets.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Saw a mild custom Audi R8 in a neighborhood that isn't known for expensive cars. Very nicely done, entirely de-chromed, no badges, all-over silver pearl paint (very fine metallic flake) with smoked windows. Faired-in smaller mirrors mounted high on the A-pillars, and an old-school flip-top style fuel filler cap. Stunning car.
unclescott58 Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 Karrman Ghias are still cool. One of these days I've got to get my Tamiya '66 Ghia built. Scott
Harry P. Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 Earlier today I saw a '69(?) Olds 442. Sort of a copper/bronze color with twin white stripes. Didn't get a photo, but it looked just like this one I found online. Pretty sharp looking car...
The70judgeman Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) @Harry- Yep, that would be a '69. Over the last week or so I saw a '39 Chevy hot-rod, '56 Chevy(at the same house as the '39), '6? Cadillac sedan, and today a '70 Buick Skylark. Edited August 24, 2014 by The70judgeman

Joe Handley Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) I had issues getting my phone to play nicely will the site, Harry. Edited August 25, 2014 by Joe Handley
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 You saw an IMG? " I MG" is what your old TD says on the day the machines wake up and revolt.
lysleder Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 I saw this one... Am I the only one who thinks it looks odd? Is this a new trend / fashion thing that I don't understand, or did somebody just goof up real bad?

DonW Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 At least the owner put it on the right end of the car... Clearly it gives much needed downforce when reversing into a parking space!
Modelmartin Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 On my way home from a friends house I saw a 67 camaro convertible, nicely resto-modded, and a stock 64 Ford Galaxie convertible.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 (edited) '76 Caddy "Castilian" custom wagon conversion, one of 56 built by Traditional Coachworks of Chatsworth, Ca. Spotted in the hardware-store parking lot close the the shop. Edited August 26, 2014 by Ace-Garageguy
Harry P. Posted August 26, 2014 Author Posted August 26, 2014 So you followed the guy to the cemetery?
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 So you followed the guy to the cemetery? I thought it was a green hearse, and green means Irish, so I figured there was an Irish wake somewhere, and Irish wakes ALWAYS have Irish whisky, so... Actually, the cemetery is across the street from the hardware store.

And yeah, it would make a great hearse in an Irish funeral!
chunkypeanutbutter Posted August 26, 2014 Posted August 26, 2014 Saw at least 10 rusty Subaru Legacy wagons. This is Maine.
Rodent Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 We usually go for a walk after meeting friends for brunch on Sunday. This gem is always parked in front of an apartment building along the way.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I'd love to have that little Stude truck. I wonder if he'd trade for an old worn out GMC and an equally worn out Silverado.

Tom Geiger Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I had a thought... I wonder if antique hearse rental would be a viable business. Have funeral homes offer the service.
