Mowed my lawn, washed both trucks, cleaned Spot's poo box and the kitten's cage...and even worked on a couple models for the first time in months.

Going for a hike in the AM if it's not raining and the radar looks like it won't for a couple hours, then maybe a little more bench time in the PM. B)

I went to my local Model Club meeting today.

I gave away 3 kits, and sold one. Two of the kits are old, very rare Airplane kits. The guy  I gave them to, will eventually make Museum Quality builds out of them. He posts his builds on another Well known website. When he gets them done, I'll post a link. He is a much better builder than I am, and one of the kits he had never even seen before. He was very excited to get one. I chose to give them to him, so they would get built, and loved, rather than let them rot away in my garage.

The other kit I gave away was to a fellow club member who wanted it. The meeting was ending, and I had failed to sell the kit. He then asked for it, so I just gave it to him, rather than drag it home. He was happy to get it.

I went to the meeting with my latest project, and 4 Kits, and a Book I had finished reading.

I came home with My project, and nothing else. A very successful meeting!

You don’t build planes any more? I haven’t built one since I was 23…

I have lots of Airplane Kits. But, I was never going to build those kits, because (Rare & Valuable) and the man I gave them to is a much better builder than I am, and would appreciate them more. So, it was easy to give them to him.

Yesterday was the ten year anniversary of my heart attack. As chronicled I've spent time this year in and out of thte hospital. Things have settled down and I definitely feeling better.

I am very glad you are better, and glad you are here.

My kiddo. Every once in a while he surprises me with his maturity and makes me proud. Usually followed by some really dumb sheet, but that's another story. LOL

Got to take my Amazon Parrot out of his cage, and give him a few hours freedom this evening. Normally between the Grandkids and to dog, he doesn't get out much.

He seems to be happy.

On similar lines to @OldTrucker above, it’s 25 years to the day I first met my wife in person after several months of online correspondence. ?

Congrats to both of you. Great to hear stories like this.  :)

I'd thought I'd spend my life with the girl I loved when I was 19, but things didn't go that way, and none of the others ever measured up. Not even close.

There is honestly never a day I don't think about her, and even occasionally dream about her.

Fixed my propane-fired point-of-use tankless shower-water heater, saved the original ignitor/timer module, so I still have a brandy new one for backup, and saved a few hundred bucks by not having to buy a whole new unit.  B)

103F in the corner of the shop I'm finishing my part of the '66 Chevelle in.

No windows, no ventilation, just my own fans to move the hot air around.

Said to H. with it at 3PM, went for a 2.5 mile hike. Only 98 in the sun, 94 in the shade.

Pain in my hip joints subsided after 20 minutes with no pain killer.

Drank a quart canteen of water, it was just barely enough, got a mess of vitamin D, kinda stiff right now but healthier than when I started.

And boy, do I STINK.   B)

EDIT: Good thing I fixed my shower water heater.   ;)

Not today, but yesterday I stopped by the local HobbyTown to see how the styrene and basswood stocks were, pick up a few things, and snag a few old free railroad (model and real) magazines.

One of the fellas who's worked there for as long as I can remember, and is an avid modeler himself, took me aside to show me some new stock, some new product lines, and we discussed some crossover uses of a few things. Than we started talking about bare-metal finishes, and he showed me a few more things, shared some knowledge only accomplished aircraft modelers are likely to be aware of, and was generally one of the most helpful and knowledgeable people I've come across anywhere in a very long time.

Just like the old days of real hobby shops, and I don't care who says techieworld is better...there's absolutely no substitute for personal interaction with somebody who cares about the job he's doing and enjoys sharing his knowledge and expertise...even if he is trying to sell you something.

I walked out of the store with WAY more than I went in for.   B)

Well said.

Took second place in the "master's" division in a local Strongman competition.

191 pound stone to shoulder was the final event for me.

We can learn a lot from other modeling genres. My son and daughter build Gundams and other closely allied subjects. They've turned me on to all kinds of cool tools. We have a large Gundam model contest here in SoCal, and it's one of the nicer contests to attend. First off, I'm THE old guy in the room. But people are friendly and having fun with their builds. I've built a few, but I'm not big into the genre. There are lots of opportunities for cross fertilization that we should be using more than we are.
