slusher Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I tried to smoke a trout once, but I couldn't keep the damm thing lit. Must take a real man to smoke a ham.
slusher Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Well, been a great week for me. My Brother came for a visit and we had a lot of time together. Went to the movies seen Furious 7 and watched the Blackhawks playoff game 1 at Buffalo Wild Wings. We hung out most of the week. Now he went back to north west Indiana. Miss those days when we was growing up in Chicago...
unclescott58 Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Replaced a power window mechanism in the left rear door of my 2000 LeSabre. Watched a video first on YouTube on how to do it. That helped a lot. The total job maybe took a little more than than 30 minutes start to finish. Cleaning up the residue from the duct tape I used to hold the window closed over the last few months took longer than that to clean off. It was a perfect day to do the job. Not to hot. Not to cool. Got it done, so I can go back to driving with all of the windows down. I love to do that at this time of the year, before the weather gets too hot. Scott
chunkypeanutbutter Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I cut my hair off. Buzzed it. First time ever. Took one look in the mirror... Heck, I look like Col. Kurtz. Messaged my sister a picture of myself, she said the exact same thing. Telepathy?

crazyjim Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Col. Kurtz? Who's he? I remember Col Klink from Hogan's Heroes. You got it G - Semper Fi.
knarf Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 I guess you did that so Sesame Street wouldn't sue you? They stole the names anyway.... anyone know where? the cop and taxi driver from "it's a wonderful life"
Rob Hall Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Col. Kurtz? Who's he? I remember Col Klink from Hogan's Heroes. Marlon Brando's character in 'Apocalypse Now'...
cobraman Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Been in sort of a "funk" lately. My wife took pity on me and just told me she hooked us up with a trip next weekend to Sedona. Got a deal on a rental car and a room. Do some hiking and take a Jeep tour. Shop a little and eat a little. There goes my diet ! : ) Woo Hoo !

Have fun...I was up there yesterday...went to Sedona, Jerome, Flagstaff and Winslow. Was nice and cool compared to Phoenix. Edited April 19, 2015 by Rob Hall
cobraman Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Anything I should make sure we do ? She had said she was making plans for a trip but those plans fell through so this was a nice surprise. Always nice to get away.
Rob Hall Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Sedona and Jerome always seem to busy w/ lots of tourists on the weekends...I went to a few of the winery storefronts in Jerome, did a bit of wine tasting..had some good barbeque at Bobby D's BBQ. I mostly just enjoyed the scenery, especially the drive up 89A through Cottonwood, Jerome, Sedona, Oak Creek Canyon up to Flag...I try and get up north a couple times a year. I hadn't been to Winslow before, was kind of a sad, dead little town with a couple touristy Rt 66 souvenir shops and the 'Standin on the Corner' statue named in reference to the Eagles song. The La Posada hotel there is nice, good restaurant.
Agent G Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Sesame Street, the St Louis episodes................................. G
chunkypeanutbutter Posted April 20, 2015 Posted April 20, 2015 Bert kinda reminds me of Trevor from GTA V...
Joe Handley Posted April 21, 2015 Posted April 21, 2015 After a few weeks of medical scaryness that could have resulted in us losing her, Mom is back in the hospital and getting better!
Joe Handley Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Trust me, it's been a couple weeks of hell. The last two nights, I didn't get home until 5am, luckily I have today off, didn't start until 3pm yesterday, and we just got things set up at work for 1 week of paid vacation, which I can use immediately if I need to!
chunkypeanutbutter Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 I just realized something. I'm on vacation, and most of my time has been watching South Park online and building models. My Playstation 2 has been on for four straight days. Whoops. Not even overheating yet; I guess that new fan I put in it really works.
chunkypeanutbutter Posted April 24, 2015 Posted April 24, 2015 Dug out my Gensis today. Segaaaaaaaaa.
Olskoolrodder Posted April 25, 2015 Posted April 25, 2015 (after the Plastidip headaches--that's "What irked" me today,LOL) Date night with my awesome wife
High octane Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 What pleased me today was landing at O'Hare Airport after a weeks stay in a beach condo in Florida. I enjoyed the warmth and the long walks on the beach, and I was hopin' to leave my cough in Florida but it came back home with me. Oh well, I'll have to give the doc a call next week. It was great to get away for the week even though there's no Portillo's down that way.
wayne swayze Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 Six months ago, I was honestly near death. Today, I was able to do some household chores, get to the grocery store and had enough energy to do my laundry. To most of you, seems like easy stuff, but trust me, it's a struggle. So I'm extremely pleased to have made such progress! Now if I could just get my model building back on track.
Tom Geiger Posted April 26, 2015 Posted April 26, 2015 I found this little guy on a heavily traffic foot path at work the other day. He got stuck on the pavement since the grass was to high for him to climb back on either side. We took this photo and returned him to the lake. No doubt born this year, literally coin size.
