kpnuts Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Hi all here is my scraps drawer funnycar engine detonation better than throwing the model away.
unclescott58 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 That is very cool. I too would like know how you did that. Scott
Ramfins59 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 That looks really cool. Looks like cotton, painted or dyed with red, orange and yellow, lit from underneath probably with LED lights.
DynoMight Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Cool build, lost me at the wing, but like you said, better than throwing the model away...
kpnuts Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Hi all thanks for the words of encouragement, and as has been said lit from underneath by led's you may be wondering why the led legs are painted, well that's because I know from bitter experiece that the glue from a hot glue gun conducts electric(dont ask me how I know) you may be wondering why I used the glue at all, well that's because I wanted to dull the led's down a bit and the glue when cooled is semi opaque, also it alowed me to paint some orange, yellow and red on top of the glue to help with the diffusion of the light and add to the overall effect.
Lunajammer Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 It's a rare model that is enhanced with cotton but this has to be right up there. Nicely executed.
Sixties Sam Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 That is cool.....or maybe hot! Great effect, well done! Sam
