iheartkits Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 I hope someone either makes a resin parts kit to make one out of the newest released kit.
1972coronet Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 For an AAR version : - New 340 Six Barrel - 8.75" axle (a Dana 60 never was an option with the 340 nor the 383) - Exclusive bonnet - Boot spoiler - Different-sized tyres for front and rear (the 'real' car had --correct me if I'm wrong-- F60-15 front , L60-15 rear) - Trans Am exhaust - Rear splash pan (the S&M kit already has the "blank" panel) The inclusion of a 727 Torqueflite would be nice , in addition to the 4-speed .
gtx6970 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Aar Cuda and Transam challenger had E60 15 on the ft and G60 15's on the rear
Snake45 Posted December 29, 2014 Posted December 29, 2014 Aar Cuda and Transam challenger had E60 15 on the ft and G60 15's on the rear I was just reading a road test of the Challenger TA in an original 1970 magazine and these are exactly the sizes quoted there.
jefropas Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 I hope it happens, would like to make a few, accurate ones.... Jeff
Force Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Well it's a very possible evolution of the 70 'Cuda kit, not that many changes to make it happen so I hope they will do it.
Craig Irwin Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I wouldn't expect it in 2015, things don't move that fast these days.
Guest Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I wouldn't expect it in 2015, things don't move that fast these days. They had 2 issues of the Cuda in 1 year, that seems fairly quick to me.
tim boyd Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Re Lee's comment directly above (I can't get the reply function to work on this Windows 8 laptop).... The replica stock and Sox and Martin 'cuda kits were tooled together as one complete project, so once the stock version came out, it was ready for the other version right off the bat, resulting in both versions hitting the market within a 12 month period. I am not aware that any other version of this basic kit tool was done when the tool was originally created (not to say this is definitive news, just that if such a third version existed, I didn't know anything of it). I would imagine that an AAR is on their list of potential future projects, but it would need to be weighed/prioritized against other future projects before it would be tooled for production. Again, no 'insider' knowledge here, just an opinion based on past experience working with model companies. . TIM
horsepower Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 They had 2 issues of the Cuda in 1 year, that seems fairly quick to me. And if you count the Model King police car, we had three versions of the '57 Ford in one year, that should mean they already have the AAR, and are just sitting on it until they sell a few more of the two releases already out.
tim boyd Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) The Police car / third issue of the '57 Ford was a joint project with Model King, not a Revell-only effort. According to other posters on this Board and elsewhere, the Model King version tooling (the Police version parts) and the run itself was funded by Model King. If this info is true, that puts it in a different situation than the 'cuda kit. Time will tell all, I suppose, if we eventually get an AAR, and if so, when. TIM Edited January 5, 2015 by tim boyd
jefropas Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 Bump....I'd love to see this happen soon as much as a 70' R/T Charger.... Jeff
Joe Handley Posted April 29, 2015 Posted April 29, 2015 One from the new kit would be nice, but be prepared for another round of crying over the not yet fixed fender flares if they do.
69NovaYenko Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 True, there are those who will most likey be disgruntled; however it would be a far sight better platform to start with verses the older Revell 1/24 version of the '70 Cuda AAR! Just saying....
69NovaYenko Posted May 8, 2015 Author Posted May 8, 2015 I pre-ordered six of the '70 Cuda's from my LHS when I heard they were coming. :-) Will do at least the same when they release at AAR version!!!!
FASTBACK340 Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 Yeah, I'll throw that obligatory "me too" post on expecting the AAR variant. That `Cuda kit is nice. My bet would be a AAR w/ maybe a 440-6 option w/ the Shaker. THEN they'll slice off the roof and start all-over….. `except naturally for the AAR.
