S. Svendsen Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 I built this '72 Blue Max Mustang funny car using the MPC kit. It's mostly out of the box except for the addition of some Slixx decals and a couple of other little add-ons. You can see more pics and read all the details on my website at the link. http://www.svensworldofwheels.com/72bluemax_mustang.html
DonW Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 (edited) I love this car, what a great model. Edited September 19, 2014 by DonW
Burnout Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Beautiful! A real classic. Nice photography too! I'm jealous.
gbdolfans Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Great job on the Max.Love all the Blue Max card. Very nice and clean job on the chassis and SUPER job on the paint and decals on the body.
Hawk312 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Wow. I was never really interested in that car til I saw yours. Nice finish. It looks like it really builds up well. And it looks as though the MPC funny cars aren`t plagued with the undersize slicks like the Revell kits?
Bird12 Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 Great build, inspiration for the one, or two, in my stash
Daddyfink Posted September 19, 2014 Posted September 19, 2014 One of the hardest and best running teams in the 70's! Nice job!
bob terry Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Beautiful build and photography as always. I do have to ask though, is the steering linkage a flaw in the kit? The rod that runs from the front axle to the pitman arm, should that not be longer and perhaps run under the header?
webestang Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Super nice I think I'll look into getting this kit after seeing this build!
oldscool Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Just beautiful! My favorite of all the Blue Max cars.
Fun_E_Car Posted September 22, 2014 Posted September 22, 2014 Beautifully done! I plan on building the 1/16th version of this car, without the flames though. That is just plain sweet looking. Great job! --Dave
Truck parts Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Great build and outstanding paint job.
Speedfreak Posted September 23, 2014 Posted September 23, 2014 Beautiful build and photography as always. I do have to ask though, is the steering linkage a flaw in the kit? The rod that runs from the front axle to the pitman arm, should that not be longer and perhaps run under the header? Great work Sean, beautiful. And great question Bob, as I just bought the MPC 'Hot Rod' Mustang kit yesterday! It looks very similar. Hope Sean clues us in on the steering rod.

brett Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 ^^^^^^^ it should but it doesn't ,no provisions for anything else or any other way of doing it in the kit. Beautiful job as always , your builds never disappoint on the eye candy factor
Pro Tech Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 Nice work Sean, and as always the pics are awesome. Charlie Pro Tech
