Don't forget the 1/8 James Bond Aston Martin by GE Fabbri -- that's the one that mails the parts in installments.

Did anyone mention the RoG London Bus?

Bburago has also offered kit versions of some of their prebuilt diecasts:

1/18 Bentley Continental Supersports Convertible ISF

1/18 1961 Jaguar E-type

1/24 Land Rover Defender 110

1/24 1951 Jaguar XK120

1/24 2001 Mini Cooper

1/24 Jaguar XF

Thanks, guys!

I'm not doing 1/43 -- it's an area I know nothing about, and it can be what Douglas Adams called an SEP.

Harry -- do you know if the Life-like 1/32 RRs you mention are the same as the Pyro ones listed? I have a feeling that Life-like and Pyro were related somehow. And MPC are often Airfix reboxes, aren't they?

Skip -- 1/16 XJ-S, eh? I've never even heard of that one!

bestest,

M.

I can't keep them all straight, and without the actual kits in my hands to compare, I couldn't tell you which ones are reboxings of others... but undoubtedly that's often the case.

When Pyro got out of the model kit business, Life-Like, the HO model RR scenery company, bought up their entire tooling--and then later was bought up by Lindberg, so Pyro kits have appeared in Pyro, Life-Like, and Lindberg boxes.

Airfix and MPC had a tool sharing agreement for several years in the late-60's/Early 70's, so several Airfix kits, including aircraft, ships and cars appeared in MPC's line, and vice-versa.

Super rare, and always over $100 USD.

Now he tells me - and I left a nice builtup behind in California. I recall the tires were hollow rubber and were a bit loose on the rims; they'd also start going flat if I didn't roll it around now and then.

Polytoy / Polystil 1/25 (yes!) Mini Cooper... came in yeller, white, blue and red. Later issues had less detail but came in a bunch of colors.

Add the "Get Smart" variant of the Sunbeam: An Alpine, with the 4 cylinder power plant. Lots of work to fix the hole in the hood for the machine gun, but it is a variant. The rest of the "Spy" gimmicks were mercifully glue on dreck one can ignore, But the hole in the hood is unfortunate.

AMT made a Ford Capri MKII as well, but one could argue it is a German car, since it is US spec and those were built in Cologne.

One could make it into a UK car quite easily, though.

Then there were Capri MKIs in 1/20 scale, initially by Sharp, those were later reissued by Bandai several times with various box arts.

Bandai also made a Capri MKII in 1/32.

Not sure whether the Otaki 1/24 Capri MKI RS 3100 has been mentioned yet. It is crude in the Palmer school of kits, but was reissued by

Academy/Minicraft. Best avoided.

How about the Tamiya Sierras? IIRC there were several versins of the RS500, and an XR4i.

Revell made Escort MKIIIs in 1/25.

Has the Imai/Aoshima/Revell FX4 Taxi been mentioned yet?

Not strictly cars, but there are the Bedford kits by Emhar, and the Revell Routemaster.

ESCI did a Transit MKII with a RHD option included in the kit. Unfortunately it was never reissued by Italeri.

Wills Finecast (now Southeastern) made a 1/24 scale Morgan 3-wheeler. Not sure whether that is still in their lineup portfolio.

The Parts Box (Australia) makes a resin Bedford CA van and a Bedford S-Type in 1/24.

On a different note, the Revell Cadet kits that were mentioned earlier (Rover P5, Vauxhall Cresta, Jaguar MKI) are not 1/32 scale, but smaller.

They vary in scale from 1/45 to 1/40.

Midori made a 4.5 litre Blower Bentley, which was reissued several times, even by Revell once.

Some that I have are:

1931 Rolls Royce Phaeton (Monogram #2303 - 1//24)

Lotus Esprit S1 (Nichimo #CH240 - 1/24)

Aston Martin DB4 (Aurora - 1/25)

Triumph TR-8 (Monogram snap-kit - 1/24)

I know the Aurora DB4 was reissued by Monogram (have that one too) and maybe the Lotus was done by someone also. A bit surprised

by the limited Healy 3000's and TR-6's.

Don't forget EMHAR and their series of late thirties early forties Bedford lorries (trucks). Also the big scale Airfix Bentley Blower was reboxed as an MPC kit.
