Harry P. Posted October 16, 2014 Posted October 16, 2014 My "friendly neighborhood Ford dealer" finally got a couple of 2015 Mustangs. I checked them out today... first time I have seen them in real life instead of online. Wow. Beautiful, inside and out. IMO the best looking Mustang ever. I'll be writing a check for mine soon... and selling my 2007 GT...
mikemodeler Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Must be a big bonus check from MCM Harry!
Harry P. Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 Must be a big bonus check from MCM Harry! Hilarious. No, I have savings... and a low mile '07 GT trade-in in absolute mint condition...
Joe Handley Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 There was one in all black with "hyper black" rims in front of the Enterprise next to work yesterday, nice looking car.
Harry P. Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 If all goes according to plan, my next car: Thanks to the guy who helped me out on this. You know who you are.
cobraman Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Beautiful car to be sure. Help me out on something and maybe I have my facts wrong. I know you at least were leaning towards the turbo 4 which is totally your right but I read something that said the V6 had the same horse power but it does have less torque. Times are pretty close to the same from what I read but the turbo lists at almost 2,000 more bucks. Now please don't misunderstand that I am trying to challenge your choice because I am not. Your money, your choice. I just wonder why the turbo is more appealing to you if it still is.
Erik Smith Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Very cool car. I find it interesting the 4 cylinder turbo is never called a 4 cylinder in the literature. It produces more power and does it more efficiently than the V6 and it's something to be ashamed of?
cobraman Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Specks I have say turbo 4 and V6 have same HP. No ?
Erik Smith Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Specks I have say turbo 4 and V6 have same HP. No ? Close, but the 4 has more hp and torque and gets better mpg.
Harry P. Posted October 17, 2014 Author Posted October 17, 2014 V6: 300HP: 280 ft/lb torque, 17 city, 28 highway (manual). EcoBoost 4 turbo: 310HP, 320 ft/lb torque, 22 city, 31 highway (manual). Seems like a no-brainer to me. Very cool car. I find it interesting the 4 cylinder turbo is never called a 4 cylinder in the literature. It produces more power and does it more efficiently than the V6 and it's something to be ashamed of? Not in my book.
Ace-Garageguy Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Post #6 made me think "that thing sure would look good with Deborah Harry IN it..."
unclescott58 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Ford has always done a fairly good job of adapting Mustang to the times. The new one is not my favorite of recent times. But, I do like it. Scott
chunkypeanutbutter Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 It scares me, and not in a good way. To each his own. I'm sure I could find a reasonably abused old Mustang for the price of this, but I only say that because I like cars that are a little squarish.
slusher Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Harry red is the number one color to get pulled over for a ticket..
Quick GMC Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Harry red is the number one color to get pulled over for a ticket.. No, it's not. http://www.snopes.com/autos/law/redcars.asp
deuces wild Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Way to go Harry! I'll be buying mine in April after all the snow melts.. I wonder if they'll take my '05 GT droptop in trade??? Anyway, I'm shootin' for the GT coupe with the 5.0L V-8 with?? 435 ponies.. I wonder if I could get mine with inca gold paint???
1930fordpickup Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Harry being your Blond these days the Rd is the right color. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did my 2002 when I first bought it.
Dale W. Verts Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 While I'm not a Mustang fan, I've always like the new generation pony's. And I agree with you Harry- your'e buying the best-looking Mustang ever. Seriously sexy, no matter what motor. Dale
Guest Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 One thing that is true about red cars is they are more expensive to insure. My wife used to work for an insurance company (two actually) and she said no matter the make, if the color is red, it costs more. Red cars/trucks are the most stolen and the most involved in accidents. I don't know if that goes for every insurance company. But, it did for the two she worked for. Mustang's are speeding ticket magnets as are Camaro's, Corvettes, Challengers and any other sports or muscle car. Cops know you have them for a reason. So they watch them closely. If I were considering a new Mustang, I would have to try the four banger out first. It would have to be better balanced than a V-8. Hard to argue with 310 hp and 31 mpg too. Plus, what could it actually do with some tuning? Although, the V-8 Mustangs have always got surprisingly good gas mileage for what they are. Tough choice.
JTalmage Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Burnout videos or it didnt happen! (when the time comes!)

Doesn't mean other insurers don't take it into account though. http://blog.esurance.com/5-car-myths-busted/#.VEFSuPnF9fM Also, mustangs, camaros and corvettes don't even make it on the top 20 list for how many tickets cars get http://www.usatoday.com/story/money/cars/2014/09/30/vehicles-us-most-tickets/16490255/ All the color-related stuff has been proven to be a myth Edited October 17, 2014 by Quick GMC
freakshow12 Posted October 17, 2014 Posted October 17, 2014 Sweet choice Harry. I would go comp orange but I only buy svt cars so I'm interested to see what they have in store in the coming months. Pretty sure I know what it is...

Pretty sure I know what it is... I hope they don't overdo it with the body work and stuff. This car is so clean, I hope they just keep it simple. The C7 Vette is overdone IMO, with all the black vents and trim.
