John Goschke Posted November 13, 2014 Posted November 13, 2014 '58 Fairlane 500 Club Victoria in "Sun Gold" & "Raven Black."
unclescott58 Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Man, I use to think '58 Fords were ugly. Time has healed that. and looking at John's '58 Fairlane above, and others, makes me really wish someone would issue, or reissue a '58 Ford kit. Heck, I'd be happy with the old AMT curbside kit if they reissued it today (or any of AMT's and SMP's annuals for that matter). Scott
Greg Pugh Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 Whoa!! There are some AMAZING builds here!!
landman Posted November 14, 2014 Posted November 14, 2014 After looking at Tùlio's, I figured I wouldn't post mine. But... you need a couple of glue bombs to balance things. So here's the other end of the spectrum, freshly out of long term storage. The '59 is a Skyliner with the complete top mechanism which I didn't get quite right. Are the instructions for these still available?
gordon Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Here is my Edsel, based on a car in my neighborhood. Cheers Eh!
slusher Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Gorgeous models being posted and I love the 58 and 59 Edsels.

unclescott58 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 I'll build this one day, nice kit with options even opening doors As nice as Revell's new '57 is, there is still a lot of good in AMT's Scott

unclescott58 Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 (edited) Chris you know that rear suspension from a '58 Thinderbird will not be correct for a '61 Ford wagon? '58 T-bird used coils in the back. '61 Fords, including T-birds, used leafs. By the way, '58 was the only year T-bird was setup with coils in the rear, on the unibody birds. Ford was planning on offering an air suspension setup on both the Thunderbird and Edsel. It did not happen. So Ford switched the T-bird back to leaf spring for '59. ChrisBcritter Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Oh yeah, should have clarified that - front suspension and rear axle with leaf springs added. Not perfect but it is 1/24 with a wide enough track.
geetee66 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 Woweee! Some really great builds there, guys!
StevenGuthmiller Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 59 Ford Skyliner. Old Revell kit. I have nothing but respect for anyone who can make one of these old revell kits look decent! Nice job Sam!! Steve
