JollySipper Posted November 20, 2024 Posted November 20, 2024 THE COOLEST little jam you'll ever hear! It's from this cute movie made by Jim Henson.....
JollySipper Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 Just found this song! It's my favorite Black Sabbath song covered by one of the better 'modern' rock groups.......... Even though System of a Down has been around since the '90s, I still consider them a more modern act...........
Brian Austin Posted February 6 Posted February 6 A few weeks one of my musical heroes passed. Gabriel Yacoub (from France), whose early career got a boost backing Alain Stivel (who became a big Breton/Celtic folk-rock artist in his own right), and then went on to boost the folk revival in France by forming the band Malicorne. His solo career was also remarkable. I am glad I got to see one of his solo performances in the Boston area 20-25 years ago or so. One of his songs was covered several times in various styles. His original mostly French version has some wonderful instrumentation. Gabriel Yacoub - Les Choses Plus Simples
Brian Austin Posted February 6 Posted February 6 (edited) Dave Van Ronk sang a wonderful mostly English version on his album "To All My Friends In Far Flung Places." Dave Van Ronk - The Simple Things We Said Edited February 6 by Brian Austin
1972coronet Posted February 6 Posted February 6 Not sure if this is technically obscure : Manassas by Manassas (1972). Stephen Stills, Chris Hillman, and a slew of other fellers. Sounds to me like a - no surprise - blend of The Byrds and Buffalo Springfield .
Mike C. Posted February 8 Posted February 8 (edited) This Mortal Coil - Blood Last TMC album its a collaboration of artists most from the 4AD record label. This one has Kim Deal on one song. Edited February 8 by Mike C.
JollySipper Posted March 18 Posted March 18 Here's a really good song by moe. The guitar solo plays out like 'Dueling Banjos'................ 2
Big John Posted March 28 Posted March 28 The Ultimate Spinach. Probably listened to it only once in a hazy dazy day back in 69. 1
Mike C Posted April 9 Posted April 9 (edited) This is a recent discovery for me, really good blues. Edited April 9 by Mike C 2
webestang Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Not obscure but a neat find.......... BST 2nd LP found at a thrift shop.....not only is the send away for posters cut out still there on the inner sleeve but it had the original receipt from 1969! The LP played fine. 3

1972coronet Posted June 1 Posted June 1 The first Psychedelic song - at least as a dedicated psych song. Kim Fowley's The Trip from 1965 - it's on a couple of Garage comps.
Musclecarbuilder Posted June 4 Posted June 4 (edited) I just recently discovered a band called trouble, they have an album called psalm 9. It is amazing! The following song is the first song on their album called Psalm 9. Edited June 4 by Musclecarbuilder
JollySipper Posted June 9 Posted June 9 The Claypool Lennon Delirium............... They're a little 'out there', but that's kinda the point.

Bugatti Fan Posted July 10 Posted July 10 It anyone wants to hear some bread blues music. 'Blues Alive' album by Gary Moore. Another favourite album of mine, Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of 'War of the Worlds'. Watched the stage show on TV recently with Liam Neeson's voice narrating the story. My CD is of the original recording with Richard Burton narrating.
