Just found this song! It's my favorite Black Sabbath song covered by one of the better 'modern' rock groups..........

Even though System of a Down has been around since the '90s, I still consider them a more modern act...........

A few weeks one of my musical heroes passed.  Gabriel Yacoub (from France), whose early career got a boost backing Alain Stivel (who became a big Breton/Celtic folk-rock artist in his own right), and then went on to boost the folk revival in France by forming the band Malicorne. His solo career was also remarkable.  I am glad I got to see one of his solo performances in the Boston area 20-25 years ago or so.

One of his songs was covered several times in various styles.  His original mostly French version has some wonderful instrumentation.

Dave Van Ronk sang a wonderful mostly English version on his album "To All My Friends In Far Flung Places."

Not sure if this is technically obscure : Manassas by Manassas (1972).

Stephen Stills, Chris Hillman, and a slew of other fellers.

Sounds to me like a - no surprise - blend of The Byrds and Buffalo Springfield .

Not obscure but a neat find..........

BST 2nd LP found at a thrift shop.....not only is the send away for posters cut out still there on the inner sleeve but it had the original receipt from 1969! The LP played fine.

The Ultimate Spinach. Probably listened to it only once in a hazy dazy day back in 69.

The first Psychedelic song - at least as a dedicated psych song.

Kim Fowley's The Trip from 1965 - it's on a couple of Garage comps.

It anyone wants to hear some bread blues music. 'Blues Alive' album by Gary Moore.

Another favourite album of mine,  Jeff Wayne's Musical Version of 'War of the Worlds'.  Watched the stage show on TV recently with Liam Neeson's voice narrating the story. My CD is of the original recording with Richard Burton narrating.
