atomicholiday Posted December 20, 2014 Posted December 20, 2014 Finished this one this morning. This is the first kit I've actually finished in about 15 years. I started it about ten years ago and then it went on the shelf until recently when I got back into the hobby. Started life as a Revell "Street Fighter Two" kit. This was sort of a test-bed for some different techniques I wanted to try out. Mods include opening the hood (originally it's a flip-front end), lowering the front and rear suspension, shaving the roof ribs, and filling in the sun-roof and hood vents. As a side note, this is also the first time I've tried my hand at any sort of real photography. Pics came out so-so I guess. Better than I usually do. I'm always interested in improving my abilities, so any constructive critisism (about the car or the pics) is more than welcome. Enjoy!
slusher Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Sweet looking model. Awesome black finish....
Miatatom Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 WOW!!!! Color, stance, finish, it's got it all!
DeeCee Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 (edited) VERY nicely done mate, the street fighter kit has a lot of potential i think, and you found it. Edited December 21, 2014 by DeeCee
atomicholiday Posted December 21, 2014 Author Posted December 21, 2014 Thanks guys! Nice work. Looks sinister. Thanks Ray. Sinister was exactly what I had in mind when I built it.
bigdrag1 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Great build. Your paint looks great, and really like the mods you did.. keep up the good work..
unclescott58 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Nice. And welcome back to the hobby. Scott
W-409 Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 This is a proof that these kits can be turned very nice with some extra work. I'm planning to build one of these too with some upgrades and yours is a great inspiration. Fantastic work with that paint, I know black is really hard to get right, but this looks spot on. Good looking engine and chassis too, even if they are pretty simple in the kit. I really like the overall look, even if the wheels and tires are not my favorites.
customsrus Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Good looking build. I always wanting to take one of these and try to make a stock version panel. Any ways great looking build.
Lunajammer Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Hmm. This makes me rethink this whole kit. Mine's been half built for a decade too because I didn't like my choices but didn't know where to go with it. Nice work.
MLMDesign Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 Very nice Chevy that black paint looks awesome great work.
