Dragfreak Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) I'd still like to enter if that's an option.. If so, I'll jump in with a '64 fairlane. Edited January 23, 2015 by Dragfreak
Jantrix Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) I'd still like to enter if that's an option.. If so, I'll jump in with a '64 fairlane. There is no cutoff date to start. Post up your unstarted kit or rebuild and get cracking. Glad to have you. Edited January 23, 2015 by Jantrix
Lunajammer Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Just looked it up... SSR has 116" wheelbase, 54 sedan delivery has 115" WB. Which means at 1:1 scale, that's only a half inch difference on each wheel. Is that sweet or what?

Which you could probably work out without altering the chassis, by just slightly lengthening the wheel arches.
JTalmage Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 (edited) I really like the SSR/Delivery van mashup!!!! With the leftovers you could make an SSR gasser! LOL Edited January 23, 2015 by JTalmage
exesivefire Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Yeah it's going to be way closer than I could have hoped for. I know the ssr/trailblazer is a good chassis in 1:1 to use. So I figured it was worth a shot.
Packmule Posted January 23, 2015 Posted January 23, 2015 Bumper work I decided the LS1 needed more air coming in so,.. Cut out the middle of the lower bumper and,.. cut the cowcatcher off the top,.. and installed it underneath,.. This gives me room to install an intercooler Don't know why GM didn't think of this 53 years ago ? Also ground the back of the grille out. Nice frame work going on up there Rob This is fun iddnit Cheers awesome work
Petetrucker07 Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I received the NASCAR kit today. Now I just gotta get the Del Rio '56 Chevy and get crackin.
Dragfreak Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 I'll be using the Hotrod/Revell issue of the Russ Davis Thunderbolt. It's molded in a beautiful maroon color which would be neat if I could save it and not have to paint, maybe just a clear coat and good polish.
Foxer Posted January 24, 2015 Posted January 24, 2015 (edited) Rating himself as an "excellent" welder, Ricardo fired up the torch and laid down a weld that, if nothing else, sealed the aluminum fuel tank against leaks, if not a nuclear explosion of the engine. I can't wait to spray some aluminum paint on this! This afternoon after washing and drying. Edited January 24, 2015 by Foxer

Petetrucker07 Posted January 25, 2015 Posted January 25, 2015 (edited) I hit a little snag. I forgot that I had traded off the Del Ray. Now I gotta get 1. I may get a 56 Nomad or the Del Ray, not certain at this moment. Edited January 25, 2015 by Petetrucker07

Dragfreak Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 Anybody know any resin casters that make a flat hood for the revell fairlane?
Erik Smith Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 (edited) Anybody know any resin casters that make a flat hood for the revell fairlane? Flat hood is in the Revell "Special Release" version of the 1964 Fairlane. Or special version or whatever it's called. The 2 in 1 kit thing. Edited January 26, 2015 by Erik Smith
