gtx6970 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 This is cool,,,expensive,,, but cool none the less. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Corvette-SR-2-Sebring-Racer-6-885-million-1956-corvette-sr-2-sebring-racer-/381108448327?forcerrptr=true&hash=item58bbd56c47&item=381108448327&pt=US_Cars_Trucks
chunkypeanutbutter Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 It's cool, but I dunno about $7M dollars. The most I'd ever pay for a car would be $200k. Still, pretty cool. Nice paint color.
Ace-Garageguy Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 It'd make a nice daily driver, but I'd have to put some kind of rack or hitch on it to make it as useful as my old Chevy truck.
mikemodeler Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 It's nice, but not that nice! I'll check the couch cushions for loose change and send it your way!
High octane Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I saw that car at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals Show in Nov. of 2013 and took a couple photos of it as well. A very cool lookin' car, but not something I would go out of my way to own.
pharoah Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 That car has had 14,000 'looks' and not one bid. What does that tell you? I still like it though.
unclescott58 Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Cool car. Too rich for my blood. Even if I had the money. Scott
Nitrozilla Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Waaaa. I went through every picture and not one had the trunk open. My guess is the hinge is in the fin? Vettes are not my strong suit. As far as would I buy it goes, only if I had another 2 or 3 hundred million left over. After taxes.
Belugawrx Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 Geez... I was going to vote model,... I wouldn't pay that much for a car with drum brakes
MrObsessive Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 That car is on my "someday" list to build--------particularly the Harlowe Curtice version. Yeah, that is a HEFTY chunk of change for a car that will hardly ever see the road. It may have a better chance of selling if it were offered on the Barrett-Jackson auctions for example. Different type of clientele would be watching, and certainly better exposure. At least one thing that auction has going for it......EXCELLENT reference photos! I'm watching it to save the pics later on for that very reason!
Danno Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 That is one of the most beautiful purpose-built race cars ever! Right up there with the birdcage Maserati, the Ferrari 250GTO and the Jag XKs.
Aaronw Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Neat car, but about 1000x my budget.Nice set of photos and history if someone wanted to build one. I love ebay for that purpose.
robertw Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Blast! The auction has ended. If I'd only have known about it it time I'd have borrowed enough money, repayable over my next thousand life times and bought it. LOL
Deano Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Blast! The auction has ended. If I'd only have known about it it time I'd have borrowed enough money, repayable over my next thousand life times and bought it. LOL Ah, but they relisted it just for you!
