Chuck Most Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 My most recent completion, which I actually started a couple of years ago. My main inspiration was the "Nashty Habit" coupe... high-mounted supercharged engine, horizontal radiator, metallic paint (Testors One Coat Bronze) but with no polishing or clearcoat. I left the bodywork less-than-perfect in a few spots on purpose. It's basically a hodge-podge of stuff, though I can tell you the pulleys are from Machined Aluminum Specialties (belt is black electrical tape), the MSD ignition box is from Morgan Automotive Detail, and the pulley faces are from Detail Resources. I just felt compelled to slap some Rat Fink decals on it, too.
Mattblack Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 That is one sick puppy! I like it... a lot!
jeffs396 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 VERY cool Chuck! Now we need a Chevy-powered Hudson pickup!
Guest Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Now that is a cool old pickup Chuck! Do you have a photo of the other side of the engine? I'd like to see the blower and intake setup.
TooOld Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 Sweet lookin' CHEV ! It deserves to have a RF decal !
espo Posted January 19, 2015 Posted January 19, 2015 What made you think of the "under slung" front suspension. A lot of good looking engineering went into this. Great looking build.
Chuck Most Posted January 19, 2015 Author Posted January 19, 2015 Now that is a cool old pickup Chuck! Do you have a photo of the other side of the engine? I'd like to see the blower and intake setup. Just has a "stock-ish" exhaust setup... I was going to run straight pipes out the side, but I figured the thing was over-the-top enough as it is. Blower manifold is a heavily-modified kit piece What made you think of the "under slung" front suspension. A lot of good looking engineering went into this. Great looking build. I went underslung on the front just because I wanted the thing to sit ridiculously low. Rear suspension is mostly stock '41 Chevy, but the frame is Z'd just behind the cab.
exesivefire Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Awesome build! I love it. I can see the hints of your inspiration for sure!
DumpyDan Posted January 22, 2015 Posted January 22, 2015 Wow that is one wicked looking truck, great job. Really like the engine actually the whole thing.
