hotrod66c10 Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Well this is my first post I have Ben lurking around this site for a while.just finished my 60 gmc it was a short fleet chevy truck. I scratch built the bed sides used the finders, 2 sets of steps grafted together from revells 65 chevy truck, tail gate is from amt 70s gmc. Frame was stretched using 2 amt frames. The gmc 305 v6 was scratch built using 409 valve covers, a international engine block, timeng cover is a Oldsmobile, intake is from a NASCAR kit shortened to v6,used kits distributor and car,air cleaner,3speed Saginaw transmission. Hood filler and grill where given to me from a friend I pulled a mold so I could make more later also used the v6 emblem from a diecast to cast a mold to make resin copies. Dash was modified to the gmc version. Thanks for looking and reading.
Fabrux Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 This is really neat! Great job on the GMC conversion.
Foxer Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Well worn and nicely done. Just right weathering.
pharoah Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 Nice job! I like the 'off beat' trucks like this.
1972coronet Posted February 28, 2015 Posted February 28, 2015 NICE !!! That 305 / 351 Jimmy 6 looks gorgeous !!
Zandmann Posted March 2, 2015 Posted March 2, 2015 That ain't no beater, that's a real workhorse. Good looking!
Guest Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Nice work on the weathering! You rarely see anyone turn a short stepside bed into a long stepside bed. The V-6 is a cool touch!
Dan Rosenello Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Absolutely beautiful. This is the type of build which reminds me why I read the intermet modeling boards. Thanks for sharing.
hotrod66c10 Posted March 5, 2015 Author Posted March 5, 2015 Thanks everyone! These trucks hold a special place in my heart. here are 2 of my real trucks that I have been working on 1 is a long step the other a short fleet. consequently don't finish as many models as I would like.it took me almost a year to build my little gmc.
Maindrian Pace Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Very impressive and convincing conversion. I really like these types of builds. -MJS
Atmobil Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Now this realy is a great looking one. I love the conversion work you have done!!
