cobraman Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 This kit is not without it's drawbacks but is really not that bad. If I did another one I think I would strip all the chrome and do a low buck hot rod. Anyway, it was painted De Ja Blue with a fabric gray interior. I did some simple wiring on the engine. Tail lights are from the parts box. The rear slicks are resin items I bought on ebay. The carpet is stick on felt from Hobby Lobby. I used one of my daughters hairbands for the fan belt as the kit does not include one. I cut down the windshield posts so I could use only half the windshield glass.
Stray Posted March 9, 2015 Posted March 9, 2015 excellent stuff. Looks really good and nicely finished.
tbill Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I love it! love the color, and the driver is pretty cool too! I will be getting one of these kits now that I see how cool it can look, well done Ray.
RAMBENNA Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 sweet, that is awesome.... I like the driver too
LokisTyro Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Nice build. The coloring on the pipes looks really good!
cobraman Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 Thanks guys. It really isn't that bad of a kit. If you can find another source for tires that's half the battle.
TooOld Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 I like it Ray ! First one I've seen built and it doesn't look that bad at all . Very nicely done !
TFchronos Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Very nice build, that shade of blue is gorgeous.
cobraman Posted March 10, 2015 Author Posted March 10, 2015 Thanks guys. Someone with more talent than me could make a very cool model from this kit.
DumpyDan Posted March 10, 2015 Posted March 10, 2015 Very cool, I think you have done a great job on not so good kit. Good choice of colour.
Danno Posted March 11, 2015 Posted March 11, 2015 That's neat! Ray, you've gotta bring your models to GoodGuys next weekend (March 13-14-15) and/or Desert Scale Classic April 11. People need to see your creations, man!
cobraman Posted March 11, 2015 Author Posted March 11, 2015 Thanks Danno. I tried to make the Desert Scale show for the last 2 years and something always came up last minute and I could not go. Once again I plan to go this year and hopefully I will be able to make it. I don't believe I will bring any of my "glue bombs" however. : )
