  1. Frankie does do outstanding work... And, don't tell him I said this, but a nicer guy you will never meet. 😁
  2. I just learned that Bruce Sadewater, the man behind SMP Decals, has passed away earlier today. I have no further information, but I would assume that, if at all possible, any outstanding orders will be refunded at some point in the future.
  3. Very cool.... This is exactly the type of build that I enjoy... Using a kit as a starting point to build into what you want and ending up with something truly unique!!!
  4. Outstanding build!!!! I have recently become somewhat infatuated with the widebody look and have ordered a couple of 3D printed body kits for a Mustang and a Camaro.... Seeing your truck, I think I'll now be ordering another! 😁
  5. Cheese and crackers, this thing is cool!!!!! I found this thread while looking for ideas for a future OBS build.... You have GOT to dig this project out and finish it!!!!
  6. It's gonna be cool, Craig... Looking forward to seeing the finished product at the fall Kemps' meet in October!
  7. Have started piecing together a custom interior.... Seats, floor and door panels sourced from Monogram Little Coffin. Toying with using a cut down Edsel dash.
  8. My wife has been buying little do-dads for her crafts on the Temu app lately. She surprised me a few days ago with a handy little photo booth that she bought for me through the app.... It's a small photo booth, only measuring 9" x 9.5" x 8.5"... In addition to white, it came with several colors of background sheets s... Lighting comes from a strip of small but bright LEDs... Power comes from a USB cord (It seems a bit short, but works fine when plugged into the multi port USB charger that sits on my workbench... A free gift from AARP. LOL) So how does it work??? Pretty good in my humble opinion.... By the way my wife tells my that she paid less than $4 for this.
  9. Actually irked me yesterday, but my wife and I had a VERY close call yesterday while driving. I had just entered traffic on a four lane divided highway (65 mph speed limit) from a side road. I was in the right lane gaining speed and had just reached the speed limit, when a group of 5 or 6 cars approach from behind at a higher rate of speed. A couple of the cars from the left lane began to overtake us, when the first vehicle (a silver gray SUV) got just past my driver's side door, the driver suddenly cut over into my lane. Fortunately I was as paying enough attention that I was able to avoid a collision with them. However, between the hard braking and jerking the wheel to the right I broke traction and began to fishtail and slide wildly, actually spinning and coming to a stop on the shoulder facing the wrong the wrong way... Somehow, by the grace of God, everyone else was paying attention and we all got stopped without anyone getting gathered up in what could have been a very bad multi car crash. Several of those other drivers got out to check that we were okay. One gentleman even had called in the incident to the police, with the liescense number of the vehicle that cut me off (they just kept going without stopping) Fortunately the only damage to our car was a blown out left rear tire.... Another stroke of good luck was that, just as I was getting the jack and spare tire out of the trunk, an off duty county sheriff's deputy pulled up and changed the tire for me.
  10. I'm thinking it may be an early 60's Falcon Styline piece... I narrowed it about 1/8 inch.
  11. Funny you should say that, as after grafting the two hoods, I am now rethinking the scoop as looking a bit too "racey"... I may cut it off and try a more stylized scoop.
  12. Oh, don't I know it... I have a couple of projects tucked away, that date back to the late 1980's/early 1990's... The problem is that my mind conceives new project ideas much faster than I can actually make them happen.
  13. This project started way back in January of 2014. A deep dive into the parts box yielded a bunch of bits and pieces for this weird tribute to the show customs of the early 1960's I'm not sure where all the custom parts originated, but a rear Styling piece was narrowed to mate to the cut down T bird quarters, while some add on type fins were mounted to create the cantilever style fins. At this point the project was packed away and just kind of forgotten about for several years.... At some point I dug out the old T bird and cleaned up some of the bodywork before packing it away again Another year or so passed and the bodywork received a bit more attention and a final wheel and tire selection was made (Modelhaus '59 Dodge Lancer and no-name white walls).... Once again the project was set aside for a couple of years. Which brings me to now.... A couple of days ago I dug out the T-bird again and started cutting up the kit hood so that I could splice in a custom Corvette hood with a scoop. I need to pick up some fresh Bondo to do the necessary filling (mine had gone bad)... Not sure if I will stick with the half Carson top. Toyed with using a bubble top, but to me that looked a bit too Predicta like. While I realize that this isn't a lot of people's cup of tea, I'm hoping that at least a few might relate to where I'm going with this.
  14. My experiences are similar to yours... Have had 99.999% success both receiving and shipping. The only failure I recall was a decal set that appeared to have been damaged (envelope and contents both torn) in a postal sorting machine. Fortunately the seller had insured the shipment and was able to send a replacement.
  15. This is simply fantastic... You have absolutely nailed the gasser look and feel.
