  1. Why these companies putting out vehicles that they had to have known would fail in this fashion. They have cold & hot environment test tracks, millions of miles of test driving on roads, and computer sims that these issues had to have surfaced in one or more of these situations. I believe they are playing the odds, balancing the cost of the fixes and delays in model launch, vs. the cost of recalls, and its reputation damage.
  2. Awesome work on this build!
  3. Congrats! I thought it was a well done build.
  4. Welcome Larry!
  5. Welcome to the forum Jay!
  6. Okay then! So we have a majority of potential entrants agreeing that the 2026 Annual Cannonball Run Community Build will be themed "Vehicles From our Past and Dreams" unless someone comes up with something catchier 🤔. It will be builders choice as far as replica vs. modified. I'll be going modified myself, but very close to the original. Trucks, should be limited to pickups or panel wagons, but let me know if you'd planned something different (Bruce). Modifications will be wide open as long as it remains street legal. A little story behind your pick would be a nice touch. I'll put out the intro and rules page after the U.S. holidays, so around the last week of the month, or first of the year. That will give me time to bone up on how to run a CBR as well as they've been run in the past, and allow me to get over having the family over for Christmas😂. Thanks for all of your input and ideas. Time to do some picking & planning!
  7. Hey guys, the following posters have decided on the topic " Current or previously owned vehicle OR, a vehicle you've always wanted and we're one short of a majority, but unless you all want the same topic, we'll be going with it. What say you?
  8. Absolutely! As long as its 1/24 or 1/25 scale.
  9. Okay, how about current or previously owned vehicle OR, a vehicle you always wanted (for those who've never owned a car that's available as a kit, or too young), built as you remember it, or would have liked to build it. As always, the vehicle must be able to drive cross-country in any form.
  10. No prob, its on the list I just posted.
  11. Well folks, we're up to 31 ideas, which is where I'd like to cap it, but its not my call. I just think adding more ideas makes the final decision harder. To that end, I'll ask that each of those thinking of participating make a numbered list of your top five (or less) themes. I can take a list like that and drop it in a spreadsheet and summarize the results. Thanks. CBR 2026 Ideas 1. Wagons 2. Off-road 3. Movie cars, no limits 4. Cannonball Run, 1980s edition. 12. 😅 I don't do replicas well either, but you'd just have to build the make & model. Btw, how would we know you didn't own what your pick was? I have a pic of only one car I ever owned, and there isn't a kit out there for it. So folks would have to trust that I'd ever owned it.
  13. One of the standing rules for CBR is that it be 1/24, 1/25, and with approval, 1/20th. Also, by limiting entrants to a single manufacturer will result in fewer contestants, and we strive to appeal to more contestants.
  14. 🤔I mean, what sentence can I put behind "Roadkill Style" to guide contestants on what kind of car they'd need to build. A little clarity is in order. ...and couldn't that fall under LeMons?
  15. Nice engine! Welcome to the forum.
