  1. Ordered mine this morning.....I'm hoping it comes with this detail up set tho....

  3. It's actually a good kit. Yes, there are some issues, like those ejection ports that didn't get clipped off. NuNu is getting better, but they still have some ( the M6 had a TON of them). Just test fit before you get into assembly cause there are some all over the place that won't let the parts to sit together properly. Good start. It is a good kit, I'm sure you'll do it justice.
  4. I really like the mid-engine idea. I also like the Hot Wheels theme (Vintage red lines?)
  5. Or, print one of your own. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/ford-bronco-2021-body-for-print
  6. They use clear, solid and a combination. I think some of the early cars had solid spoilers and drivers couldnt see so they switched them up to clear or partially clear. Might be why Salvino's didn't have clear parts right away, cause they had the rollout plans for designing the kits. Here's the rollout Camaro with the solid spoiler.
  7. The Kool Air Box can either go on the floor beside the driver but I think most teams put them behind the seat so the hose can come up over the top of the seat and behind the driver so it does not get caught in the belts. The hose either connects to the top of the helmet or to the side, pending on the driver's preferences.
  8. Nice start Benny. It really is a nice kit for being a "snap together" Other than the few sink marks, all of which you found on your wip, there really isn't anything to complain about. They even included actual waterslide decals along with the kiddy stickers. I got mine on Monday, been working away at it, and am in about the same state as you are with yours. I decided I'm going this way with mine tho.
  9. TBH, I don't know. I assume there's going to be some differences between teams as NASCAR doesn't regulate everything, so I'd assume not all the interiors are going to be 100% identical. I doubt anyone would really know if you took liberties to make it look good.
  10. No worries Mark. Actually there is no dash pad on the cars from the chassis manufacturer. The pic I posted has no dash pad at all, that's the underframe of where the electronics mount. The teams added in their own dashboards. That's why if you look at different cars you'll see different layouts.
  11. That package shelf was originally white (chassis colour) but I think the teams started painting them to reduce any glare off of rear shelf in the rearview mirror. Here's a shot of the rear shelf, white, and you can also see the exhaust ports farther back where they were on the original rollout cars. NASCAR then moved the exhaust ports further forward after the teams complained of heat issues. This is one of the reasons that the kits from SJR were delayed while they corrected the molds. Here's a link to a guy that sells the bits you asked about. You can either order them or use the pics as a guide. https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1264816333/gen-7-add-on-kit?click_key=4bfaf7ba38ba6a46d94e815c2339157deaeb572b%3A1264816333&click_sum=52371383&ref=shop_home_active_15&bes=1&sts=1

  13. It's not a bad kit, like you said Mark. It does have a few issues, like just about any kit really, even Tamiya kits people have "issues" with at times, but over all it's a good builders kit. I like the fact that you have to "build it" and not just drop glue into the box and shake to have it come out perfect, you actually have to pay attention to what you are doing and work a few parts here and there to "fit" right, just like in real life...things aren't always perfect. Now for the drive shaft....easiest fix, snip it in half and either just glue each end into its locating spots, since the center is never seen once built anyways so no one would ever know, or like I did on one of mine, I just added in a piece of sprue from the kit to make up the gap in the middle. Or you can just just the driveshaft in half and only put in the rear part, cause once built, it's the only end that can be seen with the body off the chassis. The front end is buried under the transmission tunnel and never seen again. Great progress so far. Following along.
  14. I'm going with something like this, not exactly, but very close.
  15. The rods he used replaced a couple in the kit that are a bit warped on some peoples kits. Also I think he added in a couple bars that aren't included in the kit. There are a few details left out.
  16. I just got an other Panamera (was in the big box set with the 918) and it's actually pretty good, I don't see any sink marks so either they fixed molds or there was bad QC in the first batch, cause my first one definitely had sink marks. Hoping my Etron makes it here this week.
  17. It's not that bad, there are lots of videos and posts on FB on these kits if you need help. Here's Clay Kemp's video on building the chassis. If you don't know Clay's work, he's one of the best at NASCAR modeling.
  18. Good start Mark. For the engine, here's the decals for the valve covers. They're for the previous gen of car but to the best of my knowledge they didn't change the engine specs, or very minimal if at all, so they should be correct. All the guys on the NASCAR groups are using them still for the Next Gen cars. Has decals for Roush, Hendrick, RCR, Toyota etc. https://www.mikesdecals.com/engine-goodies-powerslide-p-4086.html
  19. The kits are molded in colours that are like the real car so those new to the hobby or just NASCAR fans can buy and build them OOB with no paints. Personally I paint everything, or just about. The grey/silver they use in the kits is a decent base for tinting with panel wash. But for the engines I paint them. When you get to the chassis I build mine as one unit. Center, rear then the front. Then put them all together.
  20. The kit is actually pretty good. The engineering is decent, not Tamiya quality but on par with Fujimi and Revell. Some of the details are a bit rough and others very good. The chassis is a challenge, so go slow, use the instructions cause for the most part they are a good source. My one tip is, and I can't say this enough, make sure you REMOVE all mold lines and make sure the surfaces that get glued together are flat and clean cause the tolerances are extremely minimal. Also make sure to use a thin glue, Tamiya Extra Thin or something similar, especially on the chassis as you there is no room for "thick" glues. The instructions call for using the flooring as a jig, I recommend this too as it will help make sure you have the chassis sections square. And one last thing, test fit, test fit, test fit cause there are mold lines in places that can obstruct glue points so knowing where the parts connect will make sure you get good seals between parts. Over all, they're decent kits, pretty good for Salvino's first shot at the Next Gen cars. I suspect the Fords and Toyotas will be better in quality and fitment.
  21. This subject came up on a FB group recently and of course set people off like crazy. So for the roof rail that is missing, it was a mistake from Jim in the original design, he admitted to it. He's also said that it will be fixed in the future, they're just waiting on licensing from Ford or Toyota to start the runs of those cars. When that happens, they're going to take the Camaro mold and rework it to get the correct roof rail on the body. But for now, they're still running the thing pretty much non-stop so it's as is for now. To fix it, check out Clay Kemp's Youtube video.
  22. Tom from The Scale Modeling channel on Youtube has posted an unboxing video for this kit if anyone is interested.
  23. Hit the nail on the head. As a lifelong Ford guy, I was mfffdd that they used the "Mustang" badging on the Mach E. Mach E would have been fine, or something more catchy as it's not even really a car it looks more like a crossover suv than a sedan. Mustang should have been left for the Pony car, name the EV something else.
  24. I agree, it looks pretty good. I just ordered one online from the UK. I'm already looking for wheels as the "stock" ones are awful looking. Those OZ front wheels on the first pic might be a winner and I have the files for them already to 3D print.
  25. Gravity Paints USA are great paints. In fact my favourite to use, but unfortunately Mate always takes for ever to ship...and has an excuse why he's taking so long. I've ordered from him and got my order in days, even in Canada, and other times it takes him months and tons of messages to get him to ship. Scale Finishes are great, Splash as well, but I still think Gravity's USA's paints are better than anybody else's product. As far as Elm City goes, Scott use to order from Scale Finishes and ship to a US address, since the Covid lockdowns he's no longer crossing the border, he might start up again now that the border is opening back up again. Message him.
