  1. Ah. I did a fair bit of lowering, It's possible I trimmed a bit off the crossmember, losing the mount point. I'll take another look at it.
  2. A terrific kit but it seems the hemi was added as an afterthought. I couldn't figure out the mounting points for it.
  3. It is the Fifth Element. Spoken by Gary Oldman as the quirkiest of villains.
  4. I've heard far more positive reviews of the Batman than negative, from my friends that are into these films. I haven't seen it yet. As for the build - I've just returned to night shift and will be until January. We shift every four months. As soon as I'm acclimated to the new schedule, I'll feel more like spending time at the bench. More soon.
  5. This is a very well rendered engine IMHO. There were full size vehicles that used an SBC but in scale sometimes the engine can look a little small in the engine bay. Using this 1/24 engine fixes that problem. All the Monogram 37 Fords had this engine with various intake options.
  6. Way to insult everyone who likes that wheel/tire set. Those would look fine on most any pro-touring car.
  7. I haven't been to a lot of concerts. Maybe a dozen. But the best concert I've been to was back in '86. It was Ozzy's Ultimate Sin tour, at the Bayfront center in St. Petersburg, Florida. Ozzy was terrific, his band totally on point, but what made a great show, was that Queensryche opened the show. They played for like an hour before Ozzy came on and they were astounding. It was like having two headliners for the show. The sound and lights was perfect. Randy Castillo on drums and Jake E. Lee on guitar were total standouts with mind blowing solos.
  8. Sinister is the point. It always was. The camp of the Adam West TV show or even the 70's cartoons, never reflected what the comic writers wanted the Batman to be. That was just made fun for the kids to sell toys. As for the chest bat symbols, this timeline is pretty accurate.
  9. Pretty cool work. I like it. You did a good job.
  10. Back when I collected and read the comics, in some cases it was very much a Bruce and Alfred design/build effort. In others, there was a genius engineer named Harold Allnut, who was a hunchback, and he worked in the Batcave on all manner of little Bat-toys.
  11. I think I've managed to keep the bio-mechanical look while eliminating the exposed mechanicals. The ridge where the center fin was needs more work but it's coming along. I suck at body work. The rims I'm happy with. More soon.
  12. I'm really enjoying this build. Terrific work.
  13. Plans for the silly neon wheels. These bottom-of-the-parts-bin hubcaps, will be trimmed to fit and dropped into the armored sidewall hub. Once they are dechromed and painted a titanium color they should have a very mechanical turbine-esque look.
  14. I got rid of the pointy tail and cut about an inch out of the turbine nozzle. In the opening caused by cutting the tail, I'll add a tail light, which the original kit doesn't include.
  15. Here's the driver side gills filled with v-groove stock. Pretty time consuming but the end result will be worth it.
  16. These Revell kits are kind of notorious for being a pain to build but I managed it as a teenager. All hinges worked and the rear windows folded down. On a side note, these sort of kits are GREAT for dioramas and the like because of the doors and lids that are separate and can be used anywhere in the dio easily. I'm using the Henry J for just that purpose now.
  17. That was the original idea behind the design. The artist was heavily influenced by H.R. Giger, who designed the Alien and it's world. I'm planning to use it in the cockpit, but not outside. I still want to keep an armored look. Thanks for your interest guys.
  18. I've decided that I'm going to add some V-groove stock to the inside of these gills. I think it will look more armored than just leaving the area blank.
  19. Thanks Chuck. That makes a lot of sense. It's never a good thing when the studio cares more about marketing than making a good film. It destroyed this franchise. Sony's interferences with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man did the same, for the same reasons.
  20. Thanks. This one is really pretty easy I think. The one from Batman and Robin though, I've studied in some detail and after doing so.... I think it's beyond redemption.
  21. This is my second go at this kit. I built one for him box stock. This one is for me and my creativity.
