I'm finally gonna give these a try from the Revell '32 5-window. Anything I should know before trying this? I've got setting solution. I've only got one set and I really want these tires as white walls. Thanks.

I might get in on this myself. There are a lot of models dating from the 60s/70s with wild custom parts that look so terribly dated now, but I've always wanted to just build one, regardless of how tacky it looks today. I've had this kit sitting on my shelf forever. Don't pencil me in yet, we'll see how my Cannonball racer comes along, but I'll give this a hard look. Looks like fun.

Okay, I think I'm in this thing. My building time isn't great so I'm going to do one that's a Cannonballer right out of the box. Speed, reliability, handling, and style. Zero mods. Pencil me in with a Lindberg 1937 Ford Custom Convertible. -

@White Rabbit Enzo, You are the 5th moderator of this gathering of scofflaws and degenerates, since we began this CBP so many years ago, and Anthony was by-far the best of us. I'm sure you'll do fine. I look forward to the 2023 run. -
Looking good! I'll be following along.

This one is a must for all car guys. Deuces, T's, Roadsters and Drums by Hal Blaine. And this one is recent discovery. Bond. Four smoking hot ladies with some amazing talent behind a violin, viola, or cello.

2023 Cannonball Run Build Theme Suggestions
Jantrix replied to White Rabbit's topic in Community Builds
Some of the highlights of the original film for me was the Countach and the Ferrari. How about a run with just exotic sports cars and concept cars? I do like the mid-engine idea though. -
Has anyone done any printed wheels made to fit the Revell Foose FD100 tires? I'd like a wheel change without major mods. Not looking for anything in particular, just something a bit more racy.

C'mon! Are all the original ideas taken? This remake crapola has got to stop. I'll admit, there are old movies with legendary actors, that could stand a remake. 3:10 to Yuma was one. Glenn Fords movie was a good one, but it had been largely overlooked on the list of great westerns. Then there are others that will stand the test of time on their own. When the Coen Bros. remade the Dukes, True grit, I was livid. This has got to stop. I am not happy. Bradley Cooper Cast in Steven Spielberg's Bullitt (msn.com)

Greetings my friends. The last two years or so my modeling time has been occupied with other pursuits. I do apologize for being absentee on this CBP. I think this build off is of great interest to vintage racing fans so there's no reason it should end. I encourage everyone to continue participate far beyond the end of this year, as no doubt the actual race will continue. I will eventually get back into it, and when I do, my '51 is at the top of my list. Take care.

I think a lot of people thought so. At the height of his popularity, he was busted for possession (pot as I recall, maybe a little nose candy). Today that's no big deal, but back then it was enough for Showtime to cut ties. His career took a nosedive as a result.

I've always liked these. Back in the day I had a pal with a BB '73 Nova that was fairly well known locally. One evening he absolutely got smoked racing streetlight to streetlight one night, by a sleeper Gremlin. I've been wanting to build one myself.

I agree. I was able to adapt the '37 Ford suspension to the Revell '48 Ford chassis, with very little difficulty. This '37 Chevy kit is a personal favorite. I've built two. It's a very nice kit and one of my favorite pre-war cars.

That is just terrific. I love the use of the sculptor's mesh for the top insert and the grill. Very nicely done.

I'll get back on this one soon. ME TOO! ?

If you look back at the quote, it says county, not country.

Outstanding. I'm happy to hear from you. I contacted Klaus briefly through his Facebook account. He was very accommodating on information on his car. I have set this build aside while I decide on a finish for the model. I just cannot decide on a color, gloss or flat, stripe, no stripe etc. I'm not usually so wishy washy about such things, I usually have a solid plan, but this one is tough. Welcome to the forums though.

A reverse image search shows this photo in a thread on the H.A.M.B.. That's where I'd ask around, if you haven't already. The photo Steve added, the town under the AEI, appears to be something like Clinton, Md., but my Googling hasn't turned up any AEI in that location. I wish you luck.

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!

I was surprised how good the original rims looked with just a change of finish. This is metalizer titanium.
