  1. You might be the first person I've ever heard say that. Sure is good looking model though. Nice work.
  2. Three terrific models. Very clean work.
  3. I admit to the same. I picked the Riv because it's what I had on hand, but the interest is waning.
  4. This is looking good. I'm wondering how well the chassis will fit on other things of the same general size/wheelbase. Like the Johan Rambler American for instance. That would be a cool project.
  5. The tail-up, nose-down with fat tires trend in the back was in full swing when I was a kid in the 70's/80's, and I loved it. I still do. If I had a muscle car with say "limited" resale value, I'd happily do that, still today. And drive it everywhere. ?
  6. Honestly one of the coolest dios I've seen. Like you that movie was a favorite as a kid, but would never have thought to do this. I'm always amazed at the ability the military guys have to replicate water and this is right up there. Terrific work!
  7. Sonny, most paints have a certain level of opacity. Thusly are affected in some way by the base color. So if you want a bright top coat, it is better to have a light base coat.
  8. A favorite film and muscle car! Terrific work.
  9. A very nice collection of muscle. Well done.
  10. This is an interesting project. But why are you starting a new thread for each update? Just add more to your existing posts. This just makes more work for the moderators who will eventually get around to combining them for you, I'm sure.
  11. Wow. That looks great. The '75 had round headlights and a more pleasing grill IMHO. Mine was white with a blue vinyl top and white interior. 13 miles to the gallon. They are pretty rare these days. Only the convertibles seem to hold any value today.
  12. Wow. My first car was a '75. I'm going to have to look into this. The '76 is pretty close. Thanks Bill.
  13. I quite agree. I wish I'd thought of it when I built my '49. Well done.
  14. Outstanding! Wow that really looks great. Great work.
  15. Outstanding work. Very authentic.
  16. Thanks Bill, that was helpful. I think I want to take another crack at that Batmobile. Though It's not even close to a favorite, I built one years ago as a gift for a family member, who loved it. It went together very well. I've since come up with some ideas for ways to improve it and make it a proper Batmobile in my eyes.
  17. Outstanding work. What are the plans for the black one? From the pic, the paint looks save-able?
  18. Kerbside, with a "K". I dig it. This is a real good idea as this one is super hard to get that low without reworking the entire chassis. I'll be following along.
  19. All good points. I do have a Monogram '53 with optional lowered suspension. I do have a bed from the Revell '50 pickup and the custom fenders and early hemi from the AMT '53 pickup. Some custom grill/bumper options from the Revell custom '48 Ford. It seems I have all the pieces to do something very close to the photo. I love the stripe, but I think I'll change the color from black as I just finished a flat black hot rod. Now I just have to finish putting my new hobby room together so I can get started. I'm about half done. Thanks again guys. This should be fun.
  20. Indeed I am sir. ? Thanks everyone. Thanks to the wonder of hot rod/custom knowledge that is the H.A.M.B., I was able to find out who the owner is. I've found his Instagram page, and sent him a message. And I got a little info. It's a '53 Chevy, with a 57 Caddy grill/bumper, home made bed with F1 fenders. More than that I don't have as of yet. I'm hoping the owner gets back with me.
  21. Or remove the backing behind the grill and mount a slightly larger grill from behind.
  22. Yes. Zero interest in a replica, but I could work with those parts. Oh yes.
  23. Oh boy. In 40 odd years (off and on) of modeling, I've never tackled this one. I have thought about it a lot whenever it's reissued though. I think I'll finally get one. There's two versions of this kit as I recall, yes? One terrible and one not so terrible?
  24. Guys, thanks very much for the input. After thinking about it a while, I think I'm more interested in getting building something similar rather than doing a faithful replica. Like what I did with my '48 Ford recently. To build something with the same "feel", if you get me. With that thought, I've the following convertibles that might do. AMT '50 Ford (the frontrunner in my mind) Revell 48 Ford "Greased Lightning" Revell Foose Cadillac (this could be interesting) And some hardtops/coupes that I would happily chop up. Revell 49 Merc (another fav) Monogram '53 Chevy Monogram '56 Chevy Revell 50 Olds Custom AMT '51 Chevy Fleetline I really appreciate you guys helping me think this through. Much appreciated.
