  1. Thanks guys. I'm pretty convinced it's pre-'55 GM. I have the AMT '50 Ford convertible. That might work. David, that's a good suggestion. I have the custom version on the shelf. I know I have the custom rear fenders from the AMT '53 Ford pickup, I just need to find a bed. I probably have one, I just need to find it.
  2. My current vehicle. 2010 Toyota Highlander. 182,000 miles on her and she still uses no oil. I've rebuilt the front end and replaced all the struts. I did a tune up at 170,000. Hands down the most reliable vehicle I've even owned. I'm hoping she's got a quarter million miles in her.
  3. I've had this image in my ideas folder for a while. I'd like to try to find more info on this one, but google comes up empty. Anyone seen this hot rod, might point me to a source?
  4. Pro-stocks are notoriously low to the ground. Have you set the ride height yet to verify you have room for an exhaust system?
  5. I saw it once on a model at a contest. It was a classic Hooker type, 4 into 1. The builder said he should have added a support like an exhaust bracket. It was the only time I've seen it, admittedly.
  6. A great idea. I will do so. Thanks much.
  7. Tommy, each of the 12 cylinders has two exhaust ports. So it would be six downtubes with a Y at the mounting end, or 12 individual downtube, per side. However, I need to thank you for replying. As, when I did a Google search for that image show you, I accidently found some 1/25 3D printed Allison headers. Not exactly what I'm looking for but clearly there are options I hadn't researched yet.
  8. Back in 2003, Evanescence released their debut album Fallen. At the time my sons were young and getting into rock music and my boy William requested the album for a birthday gift. Like good parents, we listened to everything the kids were into, and this album I enjoyed. The heavy beat. good guitars and a great female vocalist. While chatting online with some friends that are about 15 years younger than I, I mentioned enjoying that album and asked if there were any other similar artists. Thusly I was introduced to the world of symphonic metal. They gave me a list of about six artists with the most popular, a group called Nightwish, originally from Finland. The first album I listened to really grabbed me and pulled me into that world of gothic themed, symphonic metal. The album is Once, their 5th studio album and the last with their original lead singer, Tarja Turunen, an outstanding soprano. Once is #89 on Rolling Stones Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of all Time, list. This is Ghost Love Score, one of their signature songs and the measuring stick for their last two lead singers.
  9. Has anyone tried the flamed decals from the Revell '49 Merc on an AMT 49/50 Ford? On the hood specifically? Please let me know or show me how it went. Thanks.
  10. Dax every so often a builder comes along and just takes it to another level. Imagination and skill on full display. That's not you but .......... I'm kidding. That's totally you. ? Honestly man, your hover vehicles look like something you'd see in a movie like the 5th Element. A great idea and the right amount of detail. Terrific stuff.
  11. Thanks guys. Carl, I sure hope so too. I'm 53 and I've had the rug pulled out from under me so many times by economic changes or uncertainty, that make companies do stupid stuff, starting back in 1990. I either miss a job opportunity entirely or by the time I get to the point of where I could be a team/shift lead or supervisor or subject matter expert, a trainer, something happens. I just need another 14 years to retire. It would be great to do it here at Micron. I'm darn tired of starting at the bottom over and over. I'm real good at what I do. Ech. Sorry for the rant. It's been a rough 14 months.
  12. That looks terrific. Nicely done.
  13. Looking good man. I like it!
  14. Looking at the first pic, the black flamed body looks like it's in decent shape. maybe just polish that out some? Some great work going on though.
  15. What sort of rut are you in Jim? Great looking Duster.
  16. Very nicely done. Good clean build.
  17. Hmm. I just noticed this never got an Under Glass post, I just added it to my 2021 builds post. It was a fun build but sadly something popped up during final assembly that I just didn't notice while building. The severe drop on the stockcar headers was too severe. They end up about a scale inch off the table top and if it were a real car would make it undrivable. But, it looks great in my model case. If I don't look under. Thanks for looking. Oh and an update on the employment thing. I worked a pretty awful low paying job for about seven months. Then I was hired by a semi-conductor memory (think flash drive memory) manufacturer here in Boise, and went to work. Better pay, better benefits, etc. The hours aren't ideal, but I'll make do. All's well that ends well, I suppose.
  18. Thanks, that might be the way to go.
  19. Some good looking builds. Nice work.
  20. After so many releases without addressing that problem? Sadly, I've little hope of that.
  21. I love the work but your wheel choice makes me sad. There are a thousand kits with the classic five spoke wheel, but only like two with the 8 spoke Minilite/Watanabe wheel. You used them and then you covered then up. ? Other than that, great stuff. Awesome weathering.
  22. Hey new guy. Snake is a terrific builder, master of the Snake-Fu and a respected member of this community, which you, to date, are not. If this is your behavior for your first post, please take the attitude elsewhere.
  23. Do we have any info on the kit aside from the photos circulating? Release date? Any kit changes? I'm finding them for sale already. Revell Monogram - 1/24 66 Chevy Malibu SS 2N1 - 854520 - Active Powersports
  24. I'm digging this build. Makes me want to drag my kit out. Well done sir.
