  1. Nothing short of a true beauty!
  2. Well done, Anders - I like it!
  3. Many thanks guys, I appreciate it! Haha... ? Thanks Pierre, I am sure that a man of your capabilities is well aware of the fact that basically 80% of the result is in the (preparation/ painting/ sanding/ polishing) process and it's proper execution, and only a small part comes from the material quality. It gets easier when it comes to white paint jobs. I am using Tamiya TS-101 which is basically a glossy white primer to be used on hard-to-cover plastic molded in colors like red, yellow and so on. The good thing is you have a proper primer AND a nice shiny white basecoat in just one step. Just keep dust and other flaws out of it and the nice gloss will make sure that you have a great surface to have decals or further paint jobs on. Applying the clear after that will just be the final step to conserve the decals, but most of the gloss is already there before it!
  4. Hi there, this is another well-known Tamiya kit. I chose the lesser-known "Marlboro" livery, as it was used in long-distance races (e.g. Giro d'Italia) in 1976. The much better known "Alitalia" livery of the same car drove 1 year later. Decals are from Reji. Which - although very thin - were easy to process. Unfortunately, a few little things are missing, such as the driver names or the glare protection for the windshield. I used TS-101 and TS-36. On top of that, my usual "hardware store clear coat". Built OOB except for the exhaust pipes made of wire end ferrules. Not perfect, but it looks an interesting model in the display case. Please let me know what you think of it.
  5. Hi there, this is the old Tamiya kit, finished with Jägermeister decals from Decalpool and PE parts from Studio27. Painted with cans from the hardware store.
  6. Porsche 934, Porsche 935... let me guess what's next? ? Pierre, these are beautiful builds from your capable hands, very nice! As regards the origin and correctness of this kit (as a 935 Baby), there were some conclusions made (not by myself) on a British forum as follows:
  7. Beautiful Matra, well done, Rich! At least over here, it is very hard to get your hands on a Fisher kit at a reasonable price anymore. I'm happy I managed to grab one Ferrari 512M though not so long ago... As far as Matras are concerned, I didn't even know Fisher did make one. Fortunately, several types of iconic Matras are available here by manufacturers like Le Mans Miniatures and Profil24. They all look great: https://www.scalemates.com/search.php?fkSECTION[]=All&q=matra&fkCOMPNAME[]="Le Mans Miniatures"&fkCOMPNAME[]="Profil 24"&fkSCALENORMALISED[]="1:00024"
  8. Very cool and rather unusual subject, excellent work all around!
  9. Hi there, I recently completed my first resin/ multimedia kit... So far I have only used upgrade sets or alternative decals from Studio27 and have always been satisfied with their quality. Unfortunately, this kit is full of shortcomings. Just a few examples: for whatever reasons the inner diameter of the tires was way too large for the turned metal rims. I was able to help myself with the tires from a Hasegawa Mazda 787, but something like that is not acceptable IMHO... The rear wing struts made of PE parts had to be mounted to the white metal gearbox housing. The holes provided in the PE parts were all too small and had to be “drilled bigger” with a round key file. By the way, the gearbox housing was also "bent", so I had to take measures early on in order to a) still have the rear wing reasonably straight towards the end and b) still get the rear axle fit into the gearbox housing... 8o In general I would say that also the instructions are inadequate and incomplete, if not sometimes wrong. The PE frame is containing the parts for all 3 Eagle Mk. III versions which Studio27 has on sale (as separate kits) and the instructions leave the builder to do a lot of guessing which parts are to be used and where. Similar sitaution for the decals: if I had followed the instructions, my car would have shown false driver's names... Enough with the complaining, the model was eventually finished and given the problems mentioned above and some mistakes on my part, I'm quite happy with it. By the way, the body was painted with TS-101 and clear coat from the DIY store on top.
  10. Well done, Pat. Looks as great as it should!
  11. Sure looks nice to me. Gotta love these old Tamiya F1 kits. They were not perfect in terms of detailing but went together well and not rarely they did better than significantly younger kits!
