  1. I received this Fujimi 1/24 kit from a friend in the UK, randomly chosen by him. It arrived the day before I saw the 'Ford vs. Ferrari' film so I had to build it immediately. It depicts the Ford GT40 driven by the 'true' winner Ken Miles, and is painted with Ammo Mig light blue through my airbrush. One of the decals for the orange area around the headlights didn't co-operate so I ended up spraying these with Tamiya Orange.

    41 Willys!

    Nice!
  3. Here's an original Airfix 1/24 Aston Martin DB6 that I was fortunate to purchase from a late friend's collection. Painted Tamiya Metallic Red over their red oxide primer, the kit doesn't look too bad considering its age. Unfortunately one wheel was missing, so I used some Tamiya Jaguar wheels and tyres donated by another mate to enable me to finish the build. Big sink holes on some bumpers so these were filled and covered with BMF.
  4. The other sprue is from the Revell 1930 Model A Coupe.
  5. Correct.
  6. Happy birthday Carl!
  7. Nice one!
  8. This is a Revell 1/24 Ford GT, built as a replica of the car raced at this year's Le Mans. Zero paint and Keating Motorsport decals were obtained from Slotfabrik. It's a pity the camera doesn't do the purple pearl justice. The kit comes with sink marks instead of rear view mirrors so I cut some out of plastic sheet and covered them with BMF.
  9. Looks like the Jimmy Flintstone version.
  10. Looks great.
  11. This is the Tamiya 1/24 Opel Calibra from the 1994 DTM season, driven by Keke Rosburg. Superb fit and engineering we expect from Tamiya, hard to believe they were achieving this so long ago. Even the 25 year old decals went down beautifully, although the large door decals were challenging as they also covered the top part of the one-piece front. Paint is Tamiya White TS101 straight from the can.
  12. Many thanks for the article Tim, it gave me the courage to attempt my first ever roof chop and I was stoked with the result.
  13. It's Nicholas Cage's car from the 2000 movie 'Gone in 60 Seconds', a remake of the original from 1974.
  14. Eleanor Mustang built from the Scale Production transkit and an AMT 1/25 Shelby GT350. The body is painted with Tamiya spraycans, Light Gunmetal with Metallic Black stripes.
  15. Superb build Dann.
  16. Cheers, I retired to here from Auckland, been here four years now and love it. Originally from the UK.
  17. This is the Don Garlits' Swamp Rat VI from 1964. It's the old AMT 1/24 kit with the body moulded in clear plastic, painted with Tamiya Gloss Black spraypaint. I added some basic fuel lines and wiring to the otherwise stock kit.
  18. Here is my tenth completion for the year. I've built plenty of racecars from the Blancpain series, but here's one actually sponsored by them. It's the 1/24 Aoshima Lamborghini Murcielago painted with Tamiya Gloss Black from a can, followed by a satin clear applied by airbrush.
  19. Revell 1970 Mustang painted with Testor's Grabber Green and built box stock apart from plug wires and a parts box air filter.
  20. Click on the envelope at the top of the screen (next to your name, top right). At the bottom of the drop-down list you will see "Go to Inbox" . Click on that link and you should be there!
  21. Latest build, Hasegawa 250 Ferrari Testarossa from 1957/8. My first ever airbrush paint job, using Tamiya's new LP Bright Red lacquer. I did cheat by using TS13 spraycan clear though...Excellent kit that went together really well.
  22. Great collection, nice work.
  23. Tamiya Ford GT painted in same colours as Jay Leno's using Tamiya Black and Orange spraycans. Typical Tamiya quality!
  24. Looking good Jim!
