Some Cool Thunderbird Drawings
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree about the hood bulge, it should end closer to the cowl instead of drooping down onto the front end...... I do like the headlight treatment, it gives the car a "forward moving" look....... The pearl white with the over- sized Kelsey Hayes wire wheels looks the best to me, with the speedster windscreen......... -
Another professional (?) build on EBay

It's suppose to be a diorama piece............ -
I would like to make a street freak out of a '48 chopped coupe. What chassis with gasser-esque suspension will fit under the body of this one? Something along the lines of the Malco Mustang, maybe? Thanks for any help................ PS....... What could be done to the stock frame to just use it? Transverse leaves wouldn't be acceptable, would it? Thanks....

What paints and primer are you using? The reason I ask is maybe you could get better results (which I'm sure it looks fine), with a different paint. Since I've switched to Dupli-Color stuff I get a lot better finish than with say, enamels........ -
'48 Ford mild custom-- body painted and foiled, 9/7
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thank you, Tulio! Thanks, Terry..... The interior is fabric tan by Model Master, it comes in a small spray can. I like to use it because it dries rough to the touch, like scale fabric! The white is just bare plastic........... (don't tell anyone......) -

I'm turning 37 this year. I had started to gain some weight, blood pressure was up, etc....... What has helped me was to get a dog! I'm out and about more, I've lost weight, get more exercise than I was, it's been all good for me since I've had her. Also, I cut out pork as Bill mentioned that all should do...... Pets are like holistic medicine...... they work on your entire well being instead of treating symptoms! and It's common knowledge that people with pets live longer, healthier, happier lives.... Now if I could just quit smoking.............

'48 Ford mild custom-- body painted and foiled, 9/7
JollySipper replied to JollySipper's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Thanks, David! With Tulio's guidance I figured out a way to assemble the chassis and only have to cut the exhaust into two pieces....... I just built the frame without the rear end, made the rear it's own assembly, so I can run the exhaust thru the frame then add the rear axle....... Should have pics this evening.....! -

Quick question for you guys that have built these...... Can I assemble the frame before running the exhaust? It calls for putting the exhaust pipes thru the frame....... -
Getting a decent start on this one. The plan is to throw the custom parts from the chopped kit at the stock body.....

Always been a big Batman fan..... These were drawn out of a graphic novel. They are just Sharpie over pencil with color pencils..........

Favorite Obscure or Discovered Music Album
JollySipper replied to afx's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Yeah, Claypool is a bit eccentric, to say the least! The rest of the album is good, tho, and you gotta admit Gov't Mule did Simple Man some justice........ -
Thanks for the replies, guys, It's all very helpful.......! Spex84..... I'll be doing what customizing I can by mixing the stock kit with the chopped custom coupe. Tuck and roll interior, lowered suspension, etc..... Just want to do something like maybe '50 Olds headlights, rear roll pan....... just looking for pics for ideas and how they may look. Sometimes things look better on paper than in 3D....

Hey, guys....... I want to build a mild custom '48 Ford with a stock roof. There's not many pics online of these cars customized without chopping the roof. I'm looking for things like unique front and rear treatments. (I have the headlight buckets from the '62 Catalina, I'm thinking quad lights)... You guys have any pics you could share? They would be of inspiration to a lot of folks..... Thanks for any help!
