  1. I think I read somewhere that that car was a "recreation", not an original Hemi Under Glass......
  2. You should get a Napster account, man.... $10 a month, zero ads, and you can stream all you want. I've got to be listening to mine maybe 2 or 3 hours out of the day everyday..... The last they showed, they were up to 70 million songs!
  3. Another one I like, Oysterhead.... It's Les Claypool of Primus, Trey Anastasio from Phish, and Stewart Copeland from some '80s group....
  4. Here's a super group from the more recent.... Them Crooked Vultures Josh Homme from Kyuss, QOTSA, EODM.... Dave Grohl from Nirvana, Foo Fighters, QOTSA.... John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin....
  5. I've been listening to Kyuss for the past couple days straight, really good band! It's my understanding that Homme's guitar is put through a bass amp..... Would that give it more "fuzz"? I'd post a link to the song I've been listening to (the 8.5 minute jam "Fatso Forgotso"), but there's an ef bomb in it, so I'll leave it off of here.... There's another long song called "Un Sandpiper" that's really good, also......
  6. "What is love? Baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me no more......."
  7. John, didn't the CHP use the 440 in their pursuit vehicles? I know some states did, that's how I found out about the WOT tests..... read it in a magazine article, Hemmings Muscle Car Review or something.....
  8. You see an old MoPar at a car show, what's the first question most people would be asking? "Has it got a Hemi?" I like the Elephant engine, but would much rather just have the good ol' 440 RB engine.... The Highway Patrol that used the 440s did so because it was the only engine that could withstand WOT for an extended period. I've read that the Hemi engine needed constant adjustment (mainly the valve train) to stay at peak performance. What about you guys? If you had a choice, which engine would you prefer?
  9. To Ace, it's probably like making love to a beautiful woman....... once it's over, it's over! I've had kits/builds that I didn't want to be "over", the Viper being the latest one. Not picking sides, just maybe that analogy makes more sense?
  10. Kyuss is okay! QOTSA has more of an "artsy" feel to it tho....... I really liked 'Them Crooked Vultures', which was Homme, Grohl, and John Paul Jones from Zeppelin.....
  11. I've been really getting into these guys lately..... Anyone here like them? Queens of the Stone Age....
  12. Should be excellent for under hood and chassis reference...... All the late '60s B bodies were the same basic car..... Lord knows we have a Bunch of model kits of those!
  13. I say do it! Anything Hot Wheels inspired is bound to be cool......
  14. The last program I had any enjoyment watching was Ed, Edd, & Eddy....... smartest show on television. Haven't watched any TV in 6 or 8 years.....
  15. That's an excellent how-to, thanks! I love the rubbery sheen that it has, looks more like vinyl than anything else would......
  16. So, Napster sold out! My online streaming service used to be Rdio until it went out of business, then Rhapsody until Napster bought them out.... Now it's currently Napster where I stream. They've however been bought by a UK Company (for $70M) in what they are calling a "reverse take-over". I guess that's where the smaller company absorbs the larger one..... Funny thing, about a month ago Napster changed it's home page to say that if you signed up, they would donate to the Charity of your choice. Now that it's sold, they don't have to honor that! I guess it's up to the new owners to do the donating....... I just hope they don't change the service........
  17. Same guy! I just spoke with him on IG, the tonneau cover is what he told me that he used........ Very nice and very approachable person.
  18. I may have the leaf-sprung straight axle as extra parts once I get the kit.... The '49 "Gasman" has it, but I won't be needing it.
  19. Thanks, Michael! So the acrylics dry hard (not flexible)? I guess something more "rubbery" would work better?
  20. I've seen where some guys have made tuck 'n roll upholstery from acrylic craft paint poured into a mold.... supposedly you can peel the paint from the mold, cut to shape, and apply... Just wondering, what would one make such a mold from? Are there any tricks to it, keeping the paint from sticking and such tips? I've seen the results of this, but nothing like a tutorial..... Thanks for any help!
  21. I've read a few Stephen King books (I really liked 'Needful Things')...... The writer I enjoyed the most as a youth was Edgar Allen Poe! His stories were more surreal than scary.... The Cask of Amontillado is my favorite of Poe's works. I had a set of World Book 'Children's' encyclopedias that I liked a lot when I was really young.... Each book was a different theme.
  22. My old dog! I'm having to change up her food..... She was eating Taste of the Wild "Pacific Stream", but it's starting to not agree with her, so I'm moving her to something called American Journey for senior dogs. It's got lots of good stuff in it to help with arthritis, something these dogs deal with.......
  23. I just gave this a try! Definitely want to make some tuck 'n roll for my next project...... I guess the best thing to paint it with would be craft paints?
  24. I follow Custom Car Chronicle some.... they cover customs from mainly the '40s and '50s, and show the many iterations that those old customs went through. One car I'm glad was kept in it's original make-up is the Sam Barris '50 Buick........ Such a nice car, it would be hard to change anything without ruining it.
