  1. I read somewhere that he said the McLaren F1 car was a blast to drive, but would switch ends quickly if you weren't careful.... I guess that's because you sit in the center of it while driving and can't feel the rear getting loose until it swaps ends on you.... He has one of three surviving Chrysler Turbine cars that he actually drives.
  2. Hey, Guys.... I was doing a spoon test of some Tamiya paint over two different shades of primer. I had some DupliColor sandable in dark gray, and Rustoleum 2X flat gray... I was surprised to get two completely different finishes from the two primers. I know that sandable primer is meant to be sanded to smooth it, but had no idea it was so porous. The Rustoleum though the finish is a lot smoother right from the can. You can see in the pic the spoon on the left that was primed with the Rustoleum.... The color is richer and more uniform, where the Duplicolor primed one on the right is all blotchy.... I didn't sand either spoon. Also, the Rustoleum is meant for plastics (says so on the can)..... Just thought I would share this with you fellas.... Thanks!
  3. Cool, thanks Carl and Ray! Glad you're interested.....
  4. Stetson makes it easy, for youuuuuuuuuu........
  5. Finally got the lil shoebox kit. It's the '49 coupe "Gas Man". It looks like a really nice kit, with two complete engines and several build options...... You probably know me well enough to know I'll be doing this as a mild custom. Colors are picked out, it will be Tamiya Pearl Light Red with gray below the trim on the body and a gray and white interior.... Any cool custom needs a throaty rumble, so I chose to build the what I believe is a Cadillac engine...... Here's the basis of it. I hope you guys follow along! Any and all comments are welcome...... Thanks......
  6. Here's another 'super group' of sorts.... They're called Les Claypool's Bucket of Bernie Brains. They are Les Claypool, Buckethead on guitar, Brain from some Primus stuff and the Fancy Band on drums, and Bernie Worrell from Parliament and Talking Heads on keyboard..... This is called "Elephant Ghost". It has a reggae-type drop in it, and it really comes alive about 5 minutes in......
  7. Sure they need to "enrich the community", otherwise what's the point? Whether a post sparks polarized debate or not, all posts add to the 'life' of the forum....... I see a lot of posts that do just that. In fact I have gotten remarks like that on my stuff..... I'd rather get something like that said than to not get any replies at all....
  8. Can you show us what you're driving? I'm not familiar with that dash....... looks cool!
  9. Got my annual birthday Pineapple Upside-Down Cake a couple days early..........
  10. gall dang undigestion.....
  11. He will! Probably already started on it..... I like that a whole bunch, man! One question tho, where are the pit stripes? LoL......
  12. That would be a good color combo on something, man... red and gray go well together!
  13. That's not corduroy, that's Tuck -n- Roll!
  14. He was always on the run from the MIB, they ended up catching him in the last episode...... There was a lot of mystery about the puppet they used for him. Whenever he did a guest spot on talk shows and such, the puppet was quickly stowed away so noone would see it..... If it WAS a puppet......
  15. A=lien L=ife F=orm.... he was a tragic hero of sorts....
  16. I had the chance to buy a BMW much like the one in Rodent's pic above when I was a late teen..... Something was wrong with it, so I could have gotten it very cheap. It would run fine until it got to operating temp, then it would shut off..... Now I think maybe it just had sugar in the gas tank. Always liked those Bimmers.....
  17. Carl, I guess we're the only ones here that like him......
  18. Today is/was Wayne's (Agent G) birthday. To celebrate I thought I would show you guys a pic of G as a Motorcycle Cop in ol' St. Louis......
  19. Another quick question, Guys.... The seats in the '49 coupe are heavily patterned. What do the seats in the '50's interior tub look like? I realize that the rear seat is part of the tub, but if the seats are smooth, I could alter the '50's interior to look right in the coupe..... Thanks......... Looking at Leslie's pic again, it seems the convertible's seats ARE smooth..... Am I seeing that right?
  20. You know, I used to not really like the shoebox ford..... always thought they were kinda plain! It's been just recently that I've began to realize that their "plainness" is just an empty canvas for whatever direction you want the build to go....... This kit will be my next project, plan is a mild custom.....
  21. Revell-o-gram '37 Ford coupe.... I've built it a few times, each one a little better than the last! This is the first one, Cadillac engine and artillery wheels. Then I built another with Corvette wheels. and the latest one is my favorite out of the bunch!
  22. If I had something that was plated and wanted to paint it, I would strip the chrome from it with Bleach, then prime and paint as usual.... DupliColor makes a really good sandable primer that comes in a rather large can that will work just fine with the Tamiya paints....... DupliColor products can be found at your local O'Rielly's or Advance Auto.....
