  1. We don't wonder where we're going, or remember where we've been We've got to keep this traffic flowing and accept a little sin....
  2. Why doesn't anyone believe in loneliness? Stand up and everyone can see your Holiness.......
  3. Looks like a color that would be at home on a traditional custom OR a factory stock build....... This kinda crosses into both, should look nice!
  4. A pre-facelift T- Bird? That's something I wish there was a kit of, I had a real one in my teens.......... there was a promo made, but I'm not sure who made them.
  5. You're right, Rob.... They're detailed without being overly so, not many too-small parts........ How about muscle car kits? Wasn't the A12 Super Bee an '80s tool?
  6. I'm currently working on two kits from Monogram that were tooled in the '80s. The '87 Thunderbird and the '86 Monte Carlo SS..... Both of these kits are exceptionally nice kits! and both are subjects that interest me.......... It has me wondering what all kits were contemporary to these. Would there be a list of the kits that Monogram tooled up around this time? I'd like to get more of these in the future........ If you guys have pics of kits that were tooled in the '80s, please share!
  7. I must be getting bored with my music...... I've been listening to DEVO the past little while. Some of it sounds a bit like The Cars, especially the song "Girl U Want". Anyone else get like that? Listen to something you normally wouldn't just to hear something different?
  8. Oldcarfan27 is a good trader.....
  9. How did you join? Did you just "join a conversation", or did you go thru all the registration with the Captcha and everything?
  10. Bubba with his glass-packs.......... I call them "Lacka Mufflers".... They wrack the entire complex when they start the piece of junk truck that they're on.
  11. The way I may would try to do it would be to paint the whole body with the bottom color, then use BMF to mask for the darker color...... You could just work like you were foiling the wheel arches to get the bottom color to follow them. Use a straight edge to get a nice clean straight piece of foil for the beltline separation....... I'm going to try fingernail masking tape for a pinstripe on a current project, as soon as I can find some in the color I need.......
  12. I think that a patina'd look would suit this one! Something like the 'Fast and Loud" pickup.... You'd probably get many different suggestions on color, as we have very diverse tastes on the board.....
  13. I believe they removed the edit feature because of spam/scam posts being made.... The offenders would make a post in a topic, then go back weeks later and insert some kind of link into it.
  14. Thanks, JC.... those guys are pretty good. Just hearing this guy! Peter Green..... This is off his first solo album, the whole album is proggy blues instrumentals....
  15. Carl, did you see that Scott had made a post in the wanted section? I guess he's doing okay........
  16. Hey, Guys..... I've been wondering something. The old lead sled kustom cars of the '50s and '60s, they were often lowered from the factory ride height. How was this most commonly done? Did they have a sort of 'air ride' suspension back then? What about hydraulics? I know that hydraulics were used by the lowrider community, but that didn't really start until the late '60s (right?) Just curious as to if all the customs that were built back then had static suspensions...... Thanks!
  17. I've just today found a new band to listen to...... They are called Three Mile Pilot. They are listed as "new prog" on Napster. I haven't listened to enough of them to turn you guys on to any particular tune, just thought I would mention them........
  18. I'm very much into this build....... What color were you thinking of painting it once all this awesome scratch building is done?
  19. I think it's cool you're trying to replicate the texture...... first person that I've seen do so.....
  20. Rustoleum makes a textured spray paint that would work really well for this..... I haven't used it myself, but I've seen builds with it used and it looks pretty much like that.
  21. These were 1/48 scale, I believe from a P-51.....
  22. Say, if someone wanted to build this car and it be correct, what kit(s) would you need? I used to have the MPC kit, I remember it being a bear, tho....... If you were to use just the body from the kit, what chassis would you need? Drivetrain? If I had a real 1:1 I would probably use something like a 914-6 engine and transaxle.......
  23. I'm just now hearing Yes' "Roundabout" as an acoustic version....... I like it.
  24. I had a quick, easy and well-communicated trade with JC Reckner (afx)........... He's a real cool guy both on and off the forum....
