  1. I must be getting bored with my music...... I've been listening to DEVO the past little while. Some of it sounds a bit like The Cars, especially the song "Girl U Want". Anyone else get like that? Listen to something you normally wouldn't just to hear something different?
  2. Oldcarfan27 is a good trader.....
  3. How did you join? Did you just "join a conversation", or did you go thru all the registration with the Captcha and everything?
  4. Bubba with his glass-packs.......... I call them "Lacka Mufflers".... They wrack the entire complex when they start the piece of junk truck that they're on.
  5. The way I may would try to do it would be to paint the whole body with the bottom color, then use BMF to mask for the darker color...... You could just work like you were foiling the wheel arches to get the bottom color to follow them. Use a straight edge to get a nice clean straight piece of foil for the beltline separation....... I'm going to try fingernail masking tape for a pinstripe on a current project, as soon as I can find some in the color I need.......
  6. I think that a patina'd look would suit this one! Something like the 'Fast and Loud" pickup.... You'd probably get many different suggestions on color, as we have very diverse tastes on the board.....
  7. I believe they removed the edit feature because of spam/scam posts being made.... The offenders would make a post in a topic, then go back weeks later and insert some kind of link into it.
  8. Thanks, JC.... those guys are pretty good. Just hearing this guy! Peter Green..... This is off his first solo album, the whole album is proggy blues instrumentals....
  9. Carl, did you see that Scott had made a post in the wanted section? I guess he's doing okay........
  10. Hey, Guys..... I've been wondering something. The old lead sled kustom cars of the '50s and '60s, they were often lowered from the factory ride height. How was this most commonly done? Did they have a sort of 'air ride' suspension back then? What about hydraulics? I know that hydraulics were used by the lowrider community, but that didn't really start until the late '60s (right?) Just curious as to if all the customs that were built back then had static suspensions...... Thanks!
  11. I've just today found a new band to listen to...... They are called Three Mile Pilot. They are listed as "new prog" on Napster. I haven't listened to enough of them to turn you guys on to any particular tune, just thought I would mention them........
  12. I'm very much into this build....... What color were you thinking of painting it once all this awesome scratch building is done?
  13. I think it's cool you're trying to replicate the texture...... first person that I've seen do so.....
  14. Rustoleum makes a textured spray paint that would work really well for this..... I haven't used it myself, but I've seen builds with it used and it looks pretty much like that.
  15. These were 1/48 scale, I believe from a P-51.....
  16. Say, if someone wanted to build this car and it be correct, what kit(s) would you need? I used to have the MPC kit, I remember it being a bear, tho....... If you were to use just the body from the kit, what chassis would you need? Drivetrain? If I had a real 1:1 I would probably use something like a 914-6 engine and transaxle.......
  17. I'm just now hearing Yes' "Roundabout" as an acoustic version....... I like it.
  18. I had a quick, easy and well-communicated trade with JC Reckner (afx)........... He's a real cool guy both on and off the forum....
  19. Could have very well been...... to someone like me, they look very similar from the ground.
  20. Retiring where you want, that's gotta be what it's all about......... There were some F-14 fighter jets doing acrobatics overhead today, fun to see but very LOUD.... Always enjoy watching any kind of aircraft.
  21. We're about the same age...... it good to show all the older guys that the hobby interests young folks, too....
  22. This is all really good input, guys.... The reason I asked is I'm thinking about starting to do this, build a little less 'permanent' for ease of rebuilding later. My better efforts will most likely all stay together tho.....
  23. I've seen a large diecast on eBay.... the ad said it was about 10.5" long. I was just a kid when this was on TV, this show probably made a car guy out of me!
  24. While looking at glue bombs and such on the forums, and the work put into them, made me wonder about something. How many of you guys build your models with ease of disassembly in mind? Parts that stay together, like engine halves, should be glued well. What about interior to body and chassis? Just something I've been wondering lately......
