  1. Their music style got more "progressive" as they matured as a band.... if you listen to a song, maybe "Sweat"... then listen to "Right in Two" off of 10,000 Days, they're worlds apart. How about Les Claypool? Any fans? I know my friend JC listens to him, how about everyone else? The guy's got more projects going on than anyone that I know of... He's just released some stuff with Sean Lennon under the band name The Claypool Lennon Delirium....... Pretty trippy, heady stuff!
  2. DupliColor makes a black sandable primer that would work with your Fathom Green paint..... it would even darken the color some, giving it a richer look......
  3. It's cool that you gave them a listen, man...... I'll admit that they're not for everybody. I've owned all of their studio stuff at one point, but never bought any of their merchandise. Just couldn't see myself going around with "tool" printed across my chest......
  4. Thanks, Joe! That particular song sounds like something you'd hear at a coffee house...... a cool one with real Beatniks, artists and such....
  5. JC, I've been introduced to a bunch of music thanks to your thread... if I knew how to post a video, there's a lot of music I would post, as I'm always finding new music on Napster (LOVE that site!). For instance, I just recently started listening to a band called Can.... they have one song in particular called Vitamin C that's pretty catchy. Totally agree!
  6. I like the music from the band TOOL... something I've noticed about it, tho, is that it doesn't get stuck in your head like other music. I think that it's because it's not based on easy hooks and standard time signatures like most music is. Their best album by far is Lateralus. It's a more "hopeful" album than their other albums.... I don't think there are any bands out there now that will have any staying power in the future. Groups like Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin are timeless classics.... but what bands now will be as influential as they were in about 30-40 years?
  7. I did that for a few years.... was pretty good at it and enjoyed the work. Coolest part about painting houses, the job site changes once you're done, and you're never in one place too long........
  8. I did these in MicroSoft Paint.... hope these count!
  9. You say the hill's too steep to climb.... climbing, You say you'd like to see me try........... climbing, You pick the place and I'll choose the time, and I'll climb that hill in my own way.....
  10. Nobody wants to admit they know of Modest Mouse?
  11. I backed my car into a Cop car the other day, well he just drove off.... sometimes I forget, I run my mouth off a bit too much, oh what did I say, well you just laughed it off.... it was all okay.
  12. Thanks, Bruce..... More work done on the sails.....
  13. There's been a few scale builders that I've seen work from online that I wished were members here, just to chat about their beautiful work if for no other reason....
  14. This guy was 3D printing one in pieces, then building from that... I'm not sure what happened to the project, tho....
  15. Yep, I went back to edit the post, didn't change anything, and it turned blue when I was in the text box....
  16. Trying a link.... https://charlotte.craigslist.org/cto/d/waxhaw-corvette-kart-24hrs-of-lemons-ls/7030191809.html
  17. Lately, when I try to post a link to another site, it doesn't work in the initial post. If I go back and edit the post, it somehow works then..... Is it something on my end, or something maybe I'm doing wrong? Thanks......
  18. Thanks a bunch, Guys.... Chris, I actually just got lucky with the way the deck looks. The first color I put on wasn't completely dry when I started dry brushing the second... It made it blend some. So I just did what "felt" right at the time, and it turned out okay! Working on the sails, still, but I have a quick question....... were the anchors like a wrought iron? The instructions say to paint them "wood color and black"? Thanks....
  19. Yea, that was me! It was before my teen years that I remember seeing them........ Seems like the weeks that they didn't have cars advertised, it was some sort of decorative plate or something.
  20. Thank You, JC.........
  21. Have you guys ever heard of Keller Williams? He's an acoustic guitar virtuoso who has more fun with his music than should be allowed.... a bunch of his stuff sounds like BlueGrass, but he has songs with titles like "Doobie in my Pocket" and such. Anyway, he's done a cover of Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall" in which he does all three parts as one song.... it's really good and worth a listen!
  22. I vaguely remember there being diecast cars advertised in the Parade magazine in the late '80s and early '90s..... I seem to remember a '50s Buick convertible. I'm just wondering if anyone else remembers this? Do they still sell diecast vehicles in that magazine? What company was it that sold them? Thanks.......
  23. I've read several times that the Alexander Bros. designed the custom parts in a lot of the old AMT kits..... maybe they wanted to see how the treatments looked in scale before spending time and effort on the 1:1 examples. Do the more modern releases of the '50 Ford coupe have the custom parts in them?
  24. Thanks, Guys.... the cool part of this build is I can go back and do all of the rigging later if I decide to..... Worked on some sails today
