  1. Started on the interior parts..... I'm using vinyl dye over DupliColor primer. The dash trim is an off-gray mixed from craft paints..... the seats are painted to look like cloth inserts but it's not showing in the pic.... Thanks for looking.....
  2. Thanks for the kind words and interest, guys..... Mr. Mike, your build looks really good, man! Some more progress today.... I'm detail painting this one like if I had a real one, what I would change on a 1:1... aluminum radiator and aftermarket rack & pinion.... also got the turbo and intercooler parts painted up.... I really like these cars, and it's making this kit that much more enjoyable.....
  3. Here's what parts of the engine that goes to the chassis.... the upper parts go in after the body and chassis are together.
  4. Anyways, I decided that since I had the block black I would dress up the engine some.... I'll have pics this evening!
  5. That's a world of difference, Tomo! Both of the cars in my example were painted with the same paint.... DupliColor Toreador Red.... This is from when I first joined the forum This one came later Again, it's the same paint.......
  6. This is the best forum about.... well, anything really.... Ever!
  7. It would look pretty good if it had a panel paint job all over like what's on the front fenders......
  8. If it should be gray, I'd like to paint it that color..... I wasn't really sure, this is the only bare engine pic that I could find. I do want this one to be correct, tho......
  9. Some progress.... got the exhaust and the basis of the engine painted.... also detailed the tail lights and had to make some tabs to help mount the rear bumper On the box art, the engine is blue and the engine bay is blacked out.... all the references I've seen show the engine as black and the bay is body color. That's how I plan to do this one. Still need to strip the chrome from the timing cover and rocker cover...... Thanks for looking, and Happy New Year, Guys.....
  10. Bellflower style.....
  11. Thanks for the interest.... these cars were definitely game changers in the '80s! I think that the hood has a more 'muscle car' look to it with the raised nostrils, so I might not sand mine either....
  12. Thanks, fellas! One of our awesome members here made a set of personalized license plates for it that she had when living in Cali...... it's proudly displayed in it's own case.
  13. Yesss....
  14. Hey, Guys.... I got this kit as a gift, and in usual modeler fashion I had to open it and get started. It's a really good kit, it is molded in red, though.... I think there was a version molded in silver, too. So far, I've taken care of the oil pan's seam and started on the seats, filling the seams with one-part Bondo filler smeared on with my finger.... I'm pretty much going box stock. The only qualm I have with the kit is the glass is all one piece. Wish me luck, and please feel free to follow and/or comment!
  15. Where could one get that? and would you recommend it if you were going to paint the model with a different red? I have one molded in red that I would like to paint a deeper darker shade....
  16. If you could train yourself to see it from the corner of your vision, it may could be useful on a track day car.... I don't think it's a good idea in an everyday car, tho....
  17. Got a copy of this kit...... been wanting one for some time....
  18. Here's a link to the car's ad if you want to check it out.... https://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/cto/d/thousand-oaks-porsche-928-ls3-pro-tour/7044231298.html
  19. This is the first one of these that I've seen. I think it's pretty neat... I'm sure it doubles as a mirror when not in use. What do you guys think? This particular one is in a Porsche with a Vette drivetrain that I found while browsing Craigslist.....
  20. Thanks a bunch, fellas.... I started others, but they were failures for one reason or another and ended up as parts kits.... my ship is almost done, should have it finished by the New Year......
  21. I only completed two auto builds this year.... The Karmann Ghia was built for a friend who had one 'back-in-the-day', and is the Gunze Sangyo kit. and then there's the Starliner...
  22. They have a better song called "Thrill Seeker"....
  23. Bill, you like jazz... I'm gonna turn you on to a band called Throttle Elevator Music....
  24. I'm drawn to a wide array of music..... I first was introduced to The Cardigans by the video to "My Favorite Game". Good song, cool video.... Here's them doing "Carnival"
  25. Their music style got more "progressive" as they matured as a band.... if you listen to a song, maybe "Sweat"... then listen to "Right in Two" off of 10,000 Days, they're worlds apart. How about Les Claypool? Any fans? I know my friend JC listens to him, how about everyone else? The guy's got more projects going on than anyone that I know of... He's just released some stuff with Sean Lennon under the band name The Claypool Lennon Delirium....... Pretty trippy, heady stuff!
